(didn't find a suitable forum for this, maybe I'll turn it into a blog or journal later)

This is a collection of really helpful, public domain Artwork and other stuff found on the net. All named sources are royality free and their authors explicitly stated that the images MAY BE USED IN COMMERCIAL projects as well. I have contacted the authors of the named sites and got the above statement verified. This is quality stuff and completely free for all of us to enjoy!

NOTE: I cannot guarantee that the image quality (regarding size/resolution) is enough for your game

NOTE: Its not much yet, you dont stumble across sites like that every day :-)

1. 1000+ GAME ICONS
This site provides you with free, high-res icons for your game. They are all monochrome, but thats how an icon is meant to be. The Authors nick is Delapouite and he is also accepting requests (if asked politely).

2. 1500+ FANTASY MONSTER ARTWORKS
Yep, this is crazy. That guy painted more than 1500 fantasy monsters to be used as battle graphics for the RPGMaker engine (that allows you to make your own RPG game on windows with an easy to use editor). The artwork is big enough to be used as tokens, art for cards and in many other projects as well. The Authors nick is Thalzon, but he is not accepting requests anymore (schedule full). Inside the thread and in other threads across the web (just google "Thalzons Battlers", you find additional artworks - the downloadable archives provide you with ca. 1.000 creatures already.

PLEASE: Do not re-distribute their work by hosting them on other sites. Saving the files on your own harddrive is okay, but dont upload them anywhere else. The authors want to keep the original files available in one place, and only one single place!

LAST WORDS: Give credit to the artists. Thalzon is okay when you mention his name and Delapouite wants to see a link to his homepage if you are using his icons.

I try to dig up more stuff in the future. So long, thats my "payback" to the BGDF community!

Fhizban over and out!

Found one more, royality free

Found one more, royality free textures. Stated in the Usage Rights section under point 2:

http://www.spiralgraphics.biz/packs/index.htm

PS: These textures are tied to a software program, but you can download them without the software and resolution seems to be high enough for using them in games.
