I'm currently debating whether or not to self-publish a book of rules for board games that I have designed that share a common set of pieces. I'm curious if anyone has had any recent experience with attempting something like this & what their advice would be. Thank you.

Yes, I have.

This is basically what I did with the Decktet Book. It includes seventeen games that can be played with the Decktet, which is a deck of cards I designed. I decided to release it through Lulu, which means that I didn't have to pay upfront for a print run.

Initial sales have been good but not stellar. It's only been out for a week, so I can't say whether this has been a first-week spike or an indication of things to come.

I have posted a free e-book for my card deck at a couple of e-book sites and my own URL http://vaseycards.com
