Wholesale dice: where to buy?

Boy, it's been a while since I've visited this site, and it sure has grown.

Anyway, to the point... I'm working on a game that might require some dice. I have dice for the playtesting/prototyping stage, but I am looking for some dice to supply in my self-published game pack. The dice will need to be small, and its been hard to find some miniature dice like the ones found in Wizkids' Pirate game. I have a few of those, and they work well, but I need around 250 of these, so buying more packs of Wizkids' game is not an option.

Thanks, I look forward to the replies!

I am not familiar with

I am not familiar with WizKids, but you can check
i know you can get 16mm ones at http://www.gameparts.net/playing-store-dice.htm for a good price if you buy 1000 at a time.

if u need really small ones, you can check out http://www.rpgshop.com/default/white-5mm-25d6.html
a bag of 25 5mm. so you would need 10 bags, for around $35 total, might be a good deal.

both of those sites have a ton of dice options, and a lot of custom stuff too.
hope that helps.

Do you have I.D. that would allow you to purchase wholesale?

Hi Lucas,

You're asking for where you can purchase micro-dice wholesale. I'm wondering if you're registered as a retailer or other business entity that a wholesaler would allow to open an account. I ask because Koplow has these dice, but will only sell to game retailers and the like.

You may want to talk to your Friendly Local Game Store and see if they'll cut you a discount...

Yeah. And Lenny at Koplow will complain mightily about quoting just 250 dice. :)
Still, in the end, almost anyone you buy from will wind up sourcing their specialty dice through Koplow, so you might as well start at the top.

For what it's worth though, you might consider a different dice size if you need alot of them for each game. Those little dice are a pain to deal with on the assembly line.

Semi-related

I'd steer clear of tiny dice. It's just that, as a player, I kind of despise them. They are really fiddly, they are hard to read, and you lose the damn things all the time. Hell, I bet if you accidentally landed one in a soda, you'd just end up eating the bloody die. They are cute, and they are very, very small. There is something to be said for small. Wizkids can fit them into boosters. That's pretty neat. However, if you don't absolutely need miniscule dice, small ones are fine. War of the Ring comes with some very small dice (to me, at least, Dungeons and Dragons player here, so I have, perhaps, different standards) that are fine. You can read them, I've never even almost lost one, and they roll fairly well (they spin nicely and do the other aesthetic things that nice dice do, that is.) Those are about twice as big on each side as WizKids dice, and they are about a hundred times nicer. Think about how much convenience you gain by having small dice and how much convenience you lose by not having nice ones. Just a thought, is all.

Just for everyone. I'm not

Just for everyone. I'm not sure about small dice, I use to get them from Koplow. But for anyone looking for dice especially in smaller quantity, you should check out ebay under, "bulk dice"(I believe). If you do, be sure to look at the auctions for them, not just the Buy It Now prices. I was able to get a good deal on 50@ acrylic 16mm rounded corner dice. I won auctions for Ice Red, and Ice Blue dice, 50@ ea for a total of 100 dice for less than $24 delivered.

If I did the BIN for those, it would've cost $10-$15 more.

Edit: I don't see the dice I had purchased before. But it's worth a look. You can also look up under, "rolling dice".

Here's an example.

Here's a new question

Where to buy wooden dice? This time it doesn't matter on the size, I just need wooden dice!

Company after company do not sell wooden dice, and the ones that do sell them in fancy boxes, but I don't need wooden boxes, just the wooden dice!

My kingdom for some wooden dice, in fact, why don't I give my kingdom to the first person that shows me some good wooden dice for sale.

Wooden dice

I was at the Western Toy & Hobby show last week - Koplow has wood dice.

We also turn wooden cubes into dice for our piecepacks, but if you just want regular wood dice, Koplow would be cheaper.

For our game

For our game we are looking at 1 dice per game package. We would start with a small print run of 100, so we would need 100 wooden dice! Although, we may bump it up to 200. I contacted Koplow games, so I will see what they say tomorrow. Thanks guys for your answers, I will be sure to post in this topic when I need more dice advice.

Dealextreme

I've not bought them, but the shipped-direct-from-china site www.dealextreme.com has sets of 100 minidice or 50 larger dice for $2.20. I think shipping is free.
