Anyone headed to BGG in November? I thought it might be fun to organize some sort of meet-up and possibly facilitate some sort of game design workshop there. There is, of course, "Proto Alley" on Friday => http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/680064/proto-alley-at-bgg-con-2011 but I thought we might want to organize something else focused specifically upon our community of game designers.

Thoughts?

unfortunately its too late for me to sign up and go. Also I don't have the money for the event. However I would have been down to meet up. Anybody from here going to OrcCon2012?

See you there!

No BGG for me this year (*sigh*)

Oh I wish, but BGG's getting a little too long for me to take off that entire time. I'll be up in Dallas that Friday to Sunday for Dallas Games Marathon's concurrent game convention (for people who couldn't go to BGG).

DGM is a great event. They have something running each month and it's a good event.

I will be at BGGCon. I am sure I will run into you Kyle. I see you are running a lecture on Board Game Design. That would be a good spot to meet, no?

Jonathan, The DGM event I am aware of is Nov 11-13, the weekend before BGGCon.

Run from CW

I will do my best to avoid you should I happen to see you at the con.

@Jonathan - Ignore any advice you hear from 3DragonFly. He is a limitless void of ignorance and misinformation. Although, in this particular case he happens to be correct about when the DGM event occurs. :-P

At any rate....Avoid him like the plague. His games are terrible and you should certainly NOT purchase any of them. In real life, he doesn't even go by a real name. What does 'CW' mean anyhow? No one knows.

[P.S. For those that are not terribly fluent in sarcasm, I know CW / 3dragonfly personally and I have the utmost respect for him. Furthermore, I highly recommend that you run and pick up a copy of Field Hospital, Dragon Valley, and anything else he makes in the future.]

I'll be there, but likely

I'll be there, but likely spending most of my time playing games. I do have a playtest session pre-arranged with someone, though.

On a side note, I kickstarted Dragon Valley, really looking forward to getting it. Grats on the successful project.

Just a question

I was browsing the list of BGG use that owned my game and I stubled on a user called "Geekdo" which has the following profile:

http://www.boardgamegeek.com/user/Geekdo

I was wondering if it was used for the game inventory of this BGG event. I am just curious to know if my game is going to be there. Still, if people does intend to play my game, it's really a bad timing because I am currently updating the rules and the print outs. I'll try to finish everything before black friday. Meanwhile, the rule updates can be found here:

Geekdo is in fact the BGG library. You could send them the updated game if you wanted.

Unfortunately, I'll be missing this BGGcon.

Best Spud

Unfortunately, I can't make it. However, I was able to ship out a copy of my game, Best Spud, in time for it to be added to the BGG Library. So, for those that do make it and play Best Spud, I would love to hear from you!
