Bushido

Hello all,

I am proud to announce my second project, Bushido. A push-your-luck, set collection strategy game set in feudal Japan.

A war is on the horizon and the Shogun needs to bolster his army with new recruits, a task he leaves to his Diamyo.

Roll dice to collect the Virtue sets that the Diamyo requires to be the first player to be recruited.

Like many fun games, Bushido doesn't lack in "take that" gameplay. Many of the Virtue cards allow players to dynamically alter the game as they are collected. Also, special virtue cards are included to add another layer of player vs player. Cards like Seppuku can prevent a player from collecting any virtues until that player rolls the needed die result to overcome Seppuku. Focus tokens can force a player to reroll any die result at any time - and more!

If Bushido excites you as it excites me then please follow PawnJoker Games and even consider looking over my first game project, Smoking Aces, currently in its last week on Kickstarter.

Thank you all.

So close to your goal on

So close to your goal on Smoking Aces with a few days to go. Very nice!

One suggestion for your 2nd project ; you may want to consider renaming it as there is already a game out there with the same name from GCT Studios (http://www.bushido-thegame.com/) and that could cause you some problems.

It's a miniatures game, but personally I would prefer to avoid the potential conflict, even if it's as simple as adding more to the name so that it's not to be confused with the existing product.

Nice!

Very close now with SA. Great job so far!

Bushido looks nice as well. It'll be interesting to follow the development.

Cheers!

Thanks everyone!

I'm on the edge of my seat going bonkers over Smoking Aces. Will I make it?!?! Donations wanted!

Soulfinger had brought up that Bushido was a miniatures game before as well. I'm pretty sure I'll be "the card game" as a distinction title. Won't be on the card back, maybe on the box and for sure in the rules and bgg page.

Again thanks everyone

Definitely add at least "The Card Game" as Bushido (the miniatures game) is still in production. The last thing you'd want is a C&D order or lawsuit over the name.

Lotus flower & Buddhism

Maybe you could go for something more *appealing* like "Bushido Madness" or "Bushido: Code of Honor", etc. Something like that. Other ideas are like "Bushido, Laws of the Lotus". This is a play on Buddhism's lotus flower which has 8 petals which correspond to the eight Path of Good Law.

Each colored lotus has a different meaning, like "White" = pure body, mind and spirit, "Red" = love, compassion and passion, "Blue" = Wisdom and common sense, "Pink" = Buddha and history, "Purple" = mysticism and spirituality...

You of course can *tailor and tinker* with this to fit within the context of your game. Perhaps the colors can have different meanings or you can use different sets of colors, etc.

Just an idea about how you can "EXPAND" on the Bushido concept - without adding a dumbed-down "The Card Game"... Which may be accurate but does nothing from a stand-point of originality...

Best of luck with this venture!
