Thank you all so much for the advice and support the last few weeks.

We're officially live on Kickstarter!!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1280068916/whatever-a-party-game

This is our first project and first attempt at the campaign. We've learned a lot from this forum and can't wait to keep things going.

Feel free to share any future campaign tips with us too!

Thank you!

Ali & Britt

You're doing just fine...

Don't stress over the campaign ... there isn't much you can do. Remember I told you already "Party Games" are for a Select Group of people. Most of the TableTop Games are "Board/Card Games"... It's like comparing Apples and Oranges... You can't: different strokes for different folks.

You just got to hope that your social media is still pumping out "Back Us!" but nobody is "talking" about the game... Which is not always a bad thing. But usually people are "talking" about the game right in the discussion.

Take a look at Andrew Harmon's "P&P" page. Not just the campaign but the Updates, Comments, et al., etc. You contributed to the campaign... but you should take a closer look at what he is doing:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andrewharmon/portals-and-prophets-t...

Cheers and don't stress... 70% on Day 1 is AWESOME. The rest of the campaign is usually "organic" but also small potatoes. Maybe about 33% in 26 days with 50% in Day 1 & Day 2. That leaves about 22% in the last couple days (48 hours).

Good luck(!?) and stay positive. You're doing great so far.

Cheers.

Update: Another way at looking at it is this: instead of having a "party", most "bord game entheusiats" would rather get the people that are important to them (children or friends) and have a couple chilled beers, sangria, or a nice bottle of wine, and play a game with them.

The Party crowd is different. They'd rather drink and party... Hence your game being a "Party Game" might work for those people - but most of the KS people are of the First Group... You can't imagine how many groups include their children in what they play and BUY.

So hang in there ... see what Andrew is doing and you'll probably figure out a thing or two.

I'm really interested in

I'm really interested in knowing what advertising you took towards advertising your game. Do you have a mailing list? Did you do Facebook ads? YouTube reviews? Written reviews? Conventions? I can't think of anything else you could do a side from going to college campuses and demo in it there. Tried going to game stores and demo it there. Maybe a public park, hopefully with an event going on.

thank you!

HI Questccg,
Thank you for the encouragement! We are definitely staying positive and pushing past the stress of it all!
We completely agree with you, this game is not for everyone. We discussed that point a great deal before we started, and we decided the pros out weighed the cons. As you said, our social media campaign has to keep things pumping! We are going to do a live video tomorrow to keep our audience's attention and we sponsored a Facebook AD last night.
We took a look into P&P as you suggested and we know our next step is to start gaining more comments. He has been doing a fantastic job at that. We will study his practice some more. :)

Thank you for all of the suggestions. It means a great deal to us that you took the time to do so.

We are hanging in there!!

Hi Evil ColSanders

Hi Evil ColSanders!

First off, thank you for taking the time to look into our campaign!
To answer your questions, we have done the following:
1. We have started a mailing list. We have gathered emails through surveys, at promotional events, etc.
2. We just ran a Facebook AD last night. Hopefully we will be able to see if that was worthwhile soon!
3. We haven't gone to a convention yet. However, we have gone to a few cities and set up booths at local restaurants to promote the game. We also walked the beaches of OCMD and had people on the beach test it out.
4. We are planning to go to other colleges in the next upcoming weeks to gain more hype. Unfortunately, this week college students are going home for Thanksgiving break, so we have to wait until the following week.

We have to look into local stores and see if we can set up a booth there, great idea!

We are going to do a live video on Facebook tomorrow as well. Hoping to keep our audience's attention so they continue to share our page!

Thank you!!

Wow you all are doing great!

Wow you all are doing great! Keep up the great work. :-)

The "fun" factor definitely comes through in this, which is why I think you've been so successful up to this point.

There are billions of people in this world, I'm sure many of them will keep coming your way in the weeks ahead.

Good luck to you as well!
