I really enjoy making card games in my freetime. My job isn't paying very well, and I want to make some money on the side.

Do you know how I would advertise my gig better?

I'll make you a card game; only five dollars!

Thank you a lot for your help!

That's a tough sale. I use

That's a tough sale. I use Fiverr on a very regular basis, but I don't think people are visiting the site looking for someone to make them a card game. Most are there for a logo, website, or business help.

Why did you choose that medium?

What does your customer avatar look like? Is Fiverr the place where your ideal customer is hanging out?

And what's the demand for a custom card game?

There are a lot of ways to make money on the side, but I'm not sure you're going to bring in very much with this idea. If it's a hobby/passion thing, no worries. But if this is legitimately motivated by a need to increase your income, you may want to look into something else.

I chose custom card games

I chose custom card games because I enjoy making them. Issue is that I don't know where I should make the offer, so that people can see it. Fiverr seemed to be my first bet, but many don't go on for non-financial reasons.

Where should I go to find customers? Personally I do this as a fun hobby in my freetime, and wanted to extend it to a small business adventure on the side.

I most importantly want to supply quality, rather than quantity. My card games I try my hardest to make them come out as best I can. I don't expect a lot of money off of it, but I do expect joyful recipients.

That's a really tough

That's a really tough scenario. You're trying to sell a service that people aren't really looking for.

I think you would have a lot more luck if you developed a card game, made it really awesome, and then tried to get it published.

This hobby is a niche that people don't (usually) know they want something until after it exists. For instance, no one ever thought, "I wish I had a card game that I could build my own deck throughout the course of the game." But then Dominion came out, and all of a sudden, everyone and his cousin needed that game, and there have been a ton of expansions and spin-offs.

So, my best advice is to take the best game you've ever made, playtest the heck out of it, and then publish it.

In doing this, I believe you stand to see a much better return on your time than by doing a Fiverr gig.

Also, your user name is "Hopefully Good" which doesn't exactly instill confidence in a potential client.

Money is a secondary purpose.

Money is a secondary purpose. I want to help out people to develop their own ideas in their card games, by seeing how I approach it. I mainly want to advertise my Fiverr gig because it allows for very low prices and is innocent and non-professional compared to other possible sites and blogs I can make card games in.

HopefullyGood was the first thing I thought. Wasn't the best idea, I agree. Not sure how I can change that sadly. Haha.

Do you know other ways I could advertise it?

Thank you, hope you have a great day!
