A bit more about the Action Deck

As I mentioned the Action Deck is used by Monsters to "Attack" a Wizard on his turn. So, each turn the Monster draws one (1) card from his Deck (which is custom to each Monster). If that card is one of the "Wound" cards added by the Wizards, that Monster suffers from "x" damage.

I don't know where I got this crazy idea of "Adding" Wound cards. Probably inspired by games that have "funny" cards (not much information but play a large role in a game).

See that's the thing about the "Wound" cards. Each Wizard has their own Deck of ten (10) cards. But each deck is different (from one Wizard to another).

But I had some inspiration from Arty's (@Elkobold) "Guards of Atlantis" MOBA genre game. What specifically inspired me what that each player had their own Micro Deck of cards they used each turn. I didn't want PLAYERS to have their OWN Deck... Felt too much like "TradeWorlds" and Deck-Building in general. And once I got the idea of having "Wound" cards... That also was a BIG design element I cemented real early in the design, it all just came together (for the way to attack and damage Monsters).

However I was unsure about how the Monsters would fight back.

Clearly the use of POLYs helped this design too... I was a bit unsure earlier in the week. But feel much more confident that this is the RIGHT direction for the design.

I will keep you all apprised of future developments. Cheers!

Wounds and Experience

What I want to do is "explain" how Experience is gained. Basically you earn 1 XP for every Wound you inflict. If one (1) Wound is -5 HP, that +5 XP... This is the "competitive" side of the game... While all Wizards want to gain Experience ... Experience is earned by inflicting Wounds to the Monster being battled.

Therefore players "collaborate" to jointly defeat the Monster but "compete" to earn Wounds and Experience. Since Experience is directly tied to Wounds, it becomes apparent that all the Wizards want to play efficiently and both share and challenge their fellow Wizards to fight with a "co-opetive"-type of spirit (half collaborative and half competitive).
