Is there a page on BGDF with links to public domain art sources.

I don't know where to browse the wiki pages and the search box does not gives me pertinent results.

Don´t know if there is, but in case you or any other reading this hasn´t find wikicommons I think it´s a good starting point.

Also in google image search there are advanced options about using images commercially etc.

Then there are some sites of free clip art I think they are easily found by googling.

Two I've used

When I did the most recent redesign of my game and was getting art to submit for professionally-printed beta-test decks, I got a TON of stuff from CLKER.com (not case-sensitive). Mohammad, the guy who runs it, is super-nice and very receptive to "Hi, I'm a game guy. I'm using CLKER's stuff like this ________" emails. I did that out of a courtesy. And, karmawise, I'll be submitting some stuff of my own as I get it ready. One limitation is that there are some underdeveloped categories there. A bonus is that they have some amazingly bizarre stuff from the US Library of Congress in their photo collection.

There's also morguefile.com if you're looking for actual photos. The boss guy there is a little more of a...well, a dick. I explained my usage (beta decks; likely not going to be the "for sale" version, etc.) and he was a little stand-offish. If you're doing something like my beta-ing, that might be a good place as well.

I've also, if you need them, had good luck with 1001freefonts.com for typefaces. Google that name, though, as I don't have it favorited on my home computer.

Hope that helps.

Try your local librarian

Talk to the staff at your library's reference desk. If they are clueless, there are many online services maintained by metro libraries to help people find answers or resources. Dover press publishes some wonderful collections of copyright-free art.

If you cannot find what you want, try contacting a local college that has art classes. Might be very easy to find someone who would be willing to create what you need, possibly cheap.

I am a library technician

I am a library technician (^_^). I need them in electronic format, so I can only use electronic books. I could try at my national library since they have some electronic ressources. I'll give it a try.

That wasn't easy to know from your question in this thread. Maybe if I had realized it was connected to your question in another thread.

Anyway you might be thinking of this wikipedia page:

stock.xchng

I use stock.xchng (http://www.sxc.hu) for a lot of my image needs. The majority of pictures are completely free and can be used in any type of project pretty much.
