Trying to load a PDF file but received the over 10MB data limit....

Is there a way to delete or expand? Thanks Admin :)

I tracked you usage...

But did not seem to find any LARGE PDFs or documents (for rules and such).

I think it's mostly an accumulation since you have been very active with posting artwork for your various games.

And you are a very active member... I suggest you send "richdurham" a PM and see what he can do.

From my side, I cannot see anything that sticks out - but at the same time, I cannot see how large some of your image files are. There may be one or two that are larger than the rest, etc.

Rich can check that...

File limits and size limits

There are actually two limits at play here: individual files can only be 1mb, and the total size per user is 10mb. These are pretty restrictive, and ar not going to change again in the near future.

That said, the file system on is site is pretty rubbish compared to all the 21st century solutions out there. I strongly suggest to all users that thy use external image hosting and file storage and simply link to them from posts. You can use < img > tags to embed images with a good deal of control.

This will be an easier process with an improved posting interface in the future. The timeline for these changes is pretty loose, so I can't make any promises of a date.

Can we delete some older images?

Hi Rich,

Would it be possible to delete some OLDER images from before? I don't have "delete" permissions with regards to moderation, otherwise I would look into the matter and see with Hamish what we could delete in terms of files to help lower his filesize total...

Of course I think this would mean me have the rights to delete content... I could do this, since I know you are pretty busy with the Monthly Showdown and working on developing the new site...

Just let me know if I can be of assistance.

Bewdy Rich - thanks for your

Bewdy Rich - thanks for your message! Deleting older content would then cause havoc with old links, threads etc.

I'll use an outside source, which won't be spamming using links to my website where it's hosted :)

Furthermore, I can feel proud to have used the BGDF to it's maximum potential limit...literally!

No delete, only grow

Hamish is right - deleting old images opens up the door to cutting out the floor on the archive nature of the site, breaking links. Outsourcing is the best way to go now :)

Hmm...

Does that mean we have a "reliable" service we can use to POST images on and LINK them from the BGDF website???

I know how to use the IMG tags < img > but the problem is finding a website where you can STORE your images and they won't disappear in 6 months or decide to charge to store your images...?!

I'd be curious if you had a place we could use - because I would probably use it too...!
