Hey guys,

I feel like a dummy, but I don't use many forums. Could someone point me to a list of whatever markup code this forum uses? I know BGDF uses /quote for quoting people, but that's it. I've tried /bold and /italic without success. Thanks!

I found it

I found the list. It was staring me right in the face.

For the benefit of other BGDF newbies, the forum code list is found by clicking the "Input Format" button when posting topics or replies. For a very thorough list of what the htnl codes do to your text, click the "More information about formatting options" link in the box that appears under "Input Format".

Markdown

The most flexible option (unless you are an admin, thus able to use full html) is Markdown.

You can see a good reference for it here as well as on the links provided under the Markup Input format section.

I am always wondering if there is actually a way to link a picture inside a thread with markdown.

You can add a link to a page

You can add a link to a page or a picture with Markdown with the following code:

[a link](http://the.link.example.com/image.jpg "The optional title text")

In case you meant include an image, rather than just link to it, the Markdown code would be:

![Alt text](http://the.link.example.com/image.jpg)
