Notifications for messages?

Is there any way to get an e-mail to let me know when I've received a personal message here? I normally read the site on RSS, which is great, but then I don't log in to the site to see the message notification. I've missed a couple messages for several weeks when I don't log in.

I'm sorry if this is obvious - I've wandered through the account settings and can't find anything other than a statement that my e-mail address will only be used for notifications - tantalizing, but there's no way to set these.

My family will attest that I am bad at finding things, especially when they're right in front of me, so it's quite possible I missed it. Easter eggs take me hours. Any way, if there's a way to do this, please let me know.

Thanks,
Dave

You're not alone. I would

You're not alone. I would love an email notification for new replies and any new PM I get.

Yes please! Louder notifications.

Thirded. Other websites have a checkbox on the make-a-post page. It says 'notify me by email when there is activity on this thread'. I love that.

After noodling a bit, I think I've figured out that the star-callout icon indicates a conversation with new messages (meaning messages new to me, though not necessarily new to others). That is helpful, but it would be better yet to have email notification.
