Hello, my name is Mike and I have decided to make my own game, just for fun. On a whim, I recently signed up for a gaming convention to have my game play tested and I'm pretty nervous. The convention is coming up in a month or so, and I'm trying to make my game as polished as possible/not get laughed at by professional game designers. Wish me luck and I'm looking forward to gaining some help/feedback.

Welcome Mike!

I think everyone here can share tales of their nerve-wracking experience about having their own creation on the table for the first time in front of legit designers and/or even publishers. It's not an easy thing to do if approached seriously, but I think it's an essential step for anyone wishing to have their game seriously considered. I'd suggest you take personal comments with a grain of salt, and otherwise see it as an excellent opportunity for constructive feedback to come your way.

Hearing feedback from people you don't personally know can be exceptionally useful, in the right place and the right time. Just make sure you are in the right frame of mind to receive it, and it will be sure to help you.

Best of success to you on this project, and have fun at the convention! :)

Welcome

Welcome Mike,

I hope your game review goes well! Take their opinions and try to make your game better. A few people from here gave me suggestions and I think I used them to make my game and website visually better.
