Hello, my name is Tribune and I'm new to these forums.

I'm a freelance artist and long-time board game player, looking to jump into the foray of board game design.

I'm a big fan of co-op and competitive board games, and I consider myself an analytic player. I do not take many risks, and prefer to play support, or use all advantages to leverage myself to a good position.

The games I play mostly are Arkham Horror/Mansions of Madness, Settlers of Catan and Betrayal at the House on the Hill. I love Arkham/Mansions/Betrayal for the dark fantasy themes and story telling. Catan is one of my favorite competitive games. The latest games I've played are King of Tokyo and Lords of Waterdeep. I absolutely love King of Tokyo for its combat system and quick-and-rewarding gameplay. Lords of Waterdeep I played once, and I enjoyed the game mechanics but found the themes highly lacking (cubes in roles that don't do anything are just cubes).

I am looking to develop a competitive board game. It's called 'King Under the Mountain', where dark armies fight for control of the mountain. The theme is a light-hearted cartoon based on dark fantasy concepts, such as Shadow Elves, Ghostly Dwarves and Orcs. My avatar shows the kind of style I'm aiming for.

The gameplay is intended to be a mix of Catan and Risk. It is a competitive Territory Control and Troop Combat game. I'm hoping to design a game that is simple to learn and play, with depth and flavour added through different Armies.

I'm looking to take the full plunge into BoardGame Development, and I hope this is the right place to steer me in the right directions to get where I want to go.
