Hi Gang!

My name is Preston and I live in Metro Atlanta. I'm not a game designer (yet, anyway), but I am enamored by the process and love board gaming. I'm a staff writer for GeekDad and I get to see a bunch of cool games come across the wire - more than I can keep up with. Coming here to learn what I can about the process of creating, funding, producing, and marketing a game from scratch!

I also am the founder of The Southern-Fried Gameroom Expo in Atlanta. For 2016, we've expanded beyond our traditional arcade, pinball, and console game programming to add board games and tabletop gaming to the mix. This year we've got John Kovalic as our headlining board game guest.

I'm hoping you all can turn me on to some great new projects! Looking forward to the fun!

Welcome. Most of the year, I

Welcome. Most of the year, I live outsider of the United States, but during the summer I live in Marietta which is just right up the road from you.

I was looking at the Expo's website a couple days ago trying to decide if it would be worth coming to, but I wasn't sure how big the board gaming was going to be. Are you going to have vendors there or just a section dedicated to playing games?

Hi Gabe, we'll have at least

Hi Gabe, we'll have at least a few, but we're working on having more tabletop vendors. We will also have several game companies offering demos and a variety of designers on panel discussions. We're going to have 14,000 square feet of open tabletop space with tournaments, play-to-wins, and 24 hour gaming all weekend. Based on last years attendance, we're anticipating over 3,000 attendees.

But wait...there's more! There's also 250+ arcade, pinball, and console video game systems on free play, a film festival, and live music! I hope you can make it, I think you'd really enjoy it! I hope I get to meet you in person soon.

hi

Hey there!

First of all, that Expo sounds AWESOME! I love John Kovalic too, so that's very exciting! I just joined and am about to post an intro myself. :)
