Greetings everyone! It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance here in the BGDF forum. Like many who have posted here, I am a long-time gamer of all stripes: video games, board games, console games, role-playing games - you name it, I've probably played it.

I make my living as a composer and professor at Fresno State. I teach courses in music composition, music theory, and music technology. I am also an active composer, with several works published and a CD on the way. I also have quite a bit of experience self-publishing, with scores and recordings sold through my music website. Despite all this, I am finding myself in need of a break from music and am putting my creative energy elsewhere - specifically, into game design!

My interest in games over the years has led me to dabble in designing games, with several of my ideas reaching the early prototype stage. However, that was usually where the game ended - after a few play sessions, the game idea would be shelved. Recently, I have been looking towards taking the next step, from simply creating a basic prototype to seeing what it would take to get one of my ideas published. Since I have experience in the world of self-publication, I am hoping to put that to practice here in game design.

The game that I am currently prototyping is a steampunk-themed card game that uses "clock mechanics" as a way to drive game-play. I am aiming to have the first working prototype done by the end of the week so that I can start play-testing it. As I have questions, I intend to post them here.

So, that is a little about me. I look forward to being an active contributor here at BGDF! All the best!

Thanks! I'm hoping to put up

Thanks! I'm hoping to put up more information on my game soon - my aim to create a prototype this week was derailed, but next week is still likely. Pictures and some basic rules will follow - however, the game is still quite a bit away from actual production. This will be a "quick and dirty" prototype, so don't expect beauty! :)
