Why hello there!
Pita Bread here! I just found this awesome forum, so I thought I'd dive right in!
I got more heavily into board games a few years ago. Before then I mostly just played them as a little kid, but even then I was making up ridiculous campaigns in Hero Quest for my brothers to try. After my life kinda took a (now hilarious) dramatic twist, my friends started a weekly board game night that was not only a great time, but the inspiration that kicked my creative juices into high gear!
Since then I've gotten about 4 to 5 really cool and workable board game ideas. Two of those I've pushed myself to physically make, playtest, and am proud to say are completely playable! They're mostly cardstock, MSpaint drawings and some colored pencils, aaand I'm still working on game balance, but they're playable dag-nabbit!
So far, thematically, I've leaned HARD on what I know. I worked backstage in a theater for years, so one of my games is all about theater. I've had two (completely unrelated) jobs involving dinosaurs, so one of my games is all about dinosaurs. I'll probably go way more into detail about them in another thread, but for now, I should just say:

Greetings, Pita Bread!

I think there's a lot of common ground between you and other folks here - and in particular with me, as you mentioned custom Hero Quest maps. :)

Hope you enjoy your time contributing to the forums...!

I like the notion of two

I like the notion of two unrelated jobs involving dinosaurs. I imagine that this is like how Cadillacs and Dinosaurs came to be.
