Hello folks!

I'm Michael (aka: idlemichael) - it's a pleasure to be here :)

Some of you may have heard of me before. I run a podcast called The Little Metal Dog Show where I interview pretty much anyone who's got something to say about gaming - the accompanying site is over at http://littlemetaldog.com if you'd care to have a look.

I'm relatively new to this game design lark, but I've made three so far. My first was part of a competition for Cadbury's here in the UK where my entry came second. The winner is on this year's selection box, so getting that would have been pretty awesome, however it was not to be. I've made a card game called Ace of Spies in conjunction with a friend - a set collection affair where many of the cards have extra powers and abilities. There's been a bit of interest in that from a couple of companies which is nice - still seeing what will happen with that one!

My latest is a space exploration game called Pocket Universe that has had a fair bit of decent feedback. I've put a PnP version of it up on my site for anyone to test out, but I'll also start a wee thread on BGDF too. It'd be interesting to see what designers think of it.

In the meantime, thanks for letting me in! I hope I'll be a useful addition!

Welcome to the BGDF.

Welcome to the BGDF.

Sounds like you’re off to a great start with a 2nd place contest entry and publishers looking at one of your games. That second can be the hardest part to accomplish. When I was getting started it often took 6 or 7 attempts to find a publisher that would even look at a game and my overall success rate in about 1 in 20 with several games having been looked at by half a dozen publishers or more.

Good Luck

Welcome, Michael!

I'm current on the podcast and I have to say that you are the best interviewer in the hobby. I also appreciate that you stay on topic and try to consider show length when editing.

Good luck with your designs,
William Baldwin

Thanks William - I honestly

Thanks William - I honestly don't plan the shows, but they seem to come together somehow! Cheers for your kind words. Here's hoping that that my designs are OK :D
