Hi everyone,

I'm brand new and happy to join. I'm a graphic designer/marketer with a background in video games: Aka the first to die in a disaster scenario.

I'm taking my first crack at making a board game and was really happy to find this community. I've been slaving away over my game for a couple months now and am getting close to poverty/showing it off.

My game is still in the design process, but I eventually plan to use my marketing skills to make a campaign, website and then print up a couple hundred copies and fill my garage (gotta give the family something to sift through after I'm found dead in my house, half eaten by cats).

Anyways, I look forward to discussing game design, game graphics and game marketing with you! If you have any questions for me please let me know.

Cheers,

Shane

Thanks for the welcome. I

Thanks for the welcome. I wanted to make something original so I chose a WW2 themed hex based strategy game... Growing up, I was always a fan of those old school documentaries about army movements so I'm designing a game that takes a light-hearted look at war. It's 2-4 players with really simple non-transitive combat system. There are so many games out there I figured since the odds of me making any money off this are so low I might as well make a game I would want to play, and if it other board game buffs like it then that's a bonus!

I'm in a mix of protoyping/playtesting right now. I've tested my game about 10 times and come to a system that I think is super simple, with just enough complexity to allow for strategy but still takes less than an hour.

Everyone on this site has so much experience or input to offer I'm having a great time reading the forum. Most of my questions so far have been answered just through searches but I'm sure I'll be bugging everyone soon!
