Hey there folks
Having growing up in various rural parts of the Prairie provinces in Canada, games like Crokinole and Cribbage were pretty core entertainment on a variety of cold winter nights. Later in life, getting introduced to more modern games, like Settlers of Catan, and the new War on Terror, the story telling potential of board games is something I've been finding incredibly novel and exciting.

Attempting to figure out how to create engaging multiplayer cooperative games has been a challenge I've been working on for a while now and I'd really love to connect with others who are working on developing both strategy games and more German-style scenario games, in order to bounce ideas and get tips.

More of a "go" guy than a "chess" guy myself, I'm particularly interested in those games that encourage non heirarchical strategy and collaboration between players (possibly on teams).

Welcome!

Welcome aboard, Shaboom! We're glad you're here!

I'm also interested in co-op games, as well as "Euro" style design. I'd love to springboard ideas whenever you have the time.

Yep, I'm currently working on

Yep, I'm currently working on a co-op system, and Mark's been pretty helpful in coming up with suggestions and giving good, honest critiques of my system (if I haven't thanked you in my own threads, I'll do it here).
I'd be willing to help out too. When I first got here, I was afraid that people would run around stealing ideas from each other, but now that I'm signed in and posting, I've realized that if anything, people will just *give* you their ideas to modify however you need, with their permission. It's an incredible community - we're all underdogs trying to achieve our goals.
Long post short - I'm here to help!

What Sly Said

Sly hit it on the nose when he said the community is great and people will openly share ideas.

He's helped me a ton with my co-op game, too, and he's generally brimming with great ideas (and if *I* haven't thanked *you* in the other threads, Sly, thanks!).

And he's not the only one. You've landed in a great place full of creative people who are willing and able to help -- and always glad to have more of the same join up!

Welcome! Another prairie

Welcome! Another prairie Canada developer here, and a big crokenole fan as well. I'd definitely reccomend posting any ideas you have on this site, everyone's always really helpful! I am also working on a more co-operative/collaborative game atm.

This website is really great. Even though I spend more time lurking than posting, there are a lot of people who have a lot of great ideas.
@deFunkt: I like playing/designing co-op games.
