Here's an off the wall game idea had recently. At this point it's more of a theme without mechanics. Basically the players run their own funeral parlor and work to inhume dead patrons who had eccentric burial requests. Things like odd burial locations or coffins made of odd materials.
This one might be a challenge to keep the atmosphere light and whimsical as well as a creative challenge.
I'm thinking development for this one would start as a card game.

I think the best way to keep this game light would be to use cartoony, whimsical artwork.
Keeping it Light
I actually really like this idea! One way you might keep it light is to make it a Funeral Parlor for pets. It's still kind of depressing, but it would work thematically in my opinion: you would probably get all kinds of crazy requests from people who feel the need to bury their pets lol The cartoony artwork is also a great idea and I think necessary.
I think that if the game revolves around the requests of patrons rather than what happens in the embalming room, then you have a winner :)
I have a cat that I love immensely, so I hope no one thinks I'm being insensitive.
