The Mines of Sector 7 (working title) - Feedback requested please!

THE MINES OF SECTOR 7 is a strategy game for 2 – 6 players with a deep space science fiction theme.
Players represent companies competing for an exclusive contract with a space mining conglomerate, using technology, diplomacy, resource management, and military force.

Description of Play

Send out scouts in order to find the most profitable planets. Once they discover ore-rich planets, you can establish mining colonies. These colonies are the life-blood of your company, allowing you to produce and transport ore back to your home base, in order to fulfill the ever-increasing production quotas imposed on you by The Corporation. Mining colonies also award you victory points. However, you must be careful to defend your colonies from being taken by force.

Occasionally, your scouts will come across extremely valuable, but privately owned, mining colonies that have lost their license to produce and transport ore. It would be wise to conduct negotiations to bring these privateers “under the fold”. This will increase your production capabilities, boost your victory total, and perhaps give you a technological breakthrough.

Continually increasing your technological capability is critical. You can take a steady and secure approach to your research, or aggressively gamble, hoping for that unexpected breakthrough that puts you ahead of the pack. The most tech-savvy players receive victory points, as well as considerable advantages during game play.
You can also use military force to take over other players’ colonies, harass their supply routes, and even blockade an opponent’s base, completely denying them the ability to transport ore!

The game ends when one player gains his 31st victory point or when all other players are “fired” for repeatedly failing to fulfill their production quota from The Corporation.
