Oneiro

Oneiro [Greek for Dream] is a cardgame wherein all players are Dreamers, coopertively learning how to become lucid and connect with each other in their dreams.

Each card is representative of a Dream. During the Sleep phase of each round, the Dreamers will play Dreams from their hand to a fellow Dreamer's play-area, called a 'Dream Sequence'. The next phase, Dreamers will then 'Interpret' their Dreams; looking for patterns and ways to achieve Lucidity or ways to Connect to the other Dreamers' Dreams. The played Dreams are then stored in a player's personal deck called a 'Dream Journal' to later recall and explore, or place the Dreams into their hand to give to another Dreamer next Round.

Dreamers can mark objects in their Dreams with the colour Red which can establish different Connections based on the object. If a Dreamer acheives Lucidity through balance of dreaming and waking, they will then have control of what will happen in their dream up until they lose balance and their Dream collapses. Certain Dreams have dark figures or themes. These are Omens, which haunt Dreamers and can develop into Nightmares. If a Dreamer gains too many Nightmares in their Dream Sequence, it's instant game over. However, Dreamers can work together to defeat Nigtmares and rid themselves of Omens.

Sounds interesting, but how

Sounds interesting, but how do you plan for players to mark dream items and how do people achieve lucidity?
