Sengoku

16th century Japan: "It is the Sengoku-jidai, the 'Warring States period'. The Shogun is powerless, the clans are divided, the time of the Samurai has peaked. You, mighty Daimyo, are one of seven Japanese warlords, ready to lead your clan to claim the title of Shogun and unite all of Japan. You must buildup your kingdom, raise armies, expand borders, and bring your rivals to bow down before you."

In Sengoku, you will draft cards that you will use to modify your provinces and allow you to earn money, recruit warriors, and increase your influence with the Emperor. You will take your army and wage war with your fellow Daimyos and force them into submission.

This maybe the only game where elimination becomes an option, for when a player is defeated, they may choose to become a retainer and fight under the command of the conqueror, or revolt and become ravaging bandits, or if the dishonour is too much to bare, they may commit (figurative) seppuku to walk away from the game.

Once a player has vanquished all of their opponents and have enough influence with the Emperor, they will be declared Shogun of Japan and victor of the game.
