What's Cooking?

What's Cooking is a thematic overhaul of Cards Against Humanity, at it's core. Players compete to make the best or craziest sounding recipes they can by combining their cards in hand to match a situation.

All players draw ten green cards (that can be foods, locations, events, cooking implements) (nouns, basically)

One player draws one red card and reads the situation aloud.

The other players then put forth (face down) a green card from their hand that they think best fits the scenario.

The reading player then shuffles the submitted cards and reads each aloud in the proper place of the situation card. They then decide which one they like best, and the player who played it wins the red card (1VP)

Everyone then draws back to ten cards.

The player to the left of the last reader is now the reader.

Example Scenarios:

We make pie using _____
____ tastes best when steamed
A dash of _____ makes everything better
Make sure you eat all of your _______
Lasagna tastes best using _____ instead of ______
_____ has less calories than ______
_____: the ideal brainfood
A little _____ does the body good
Be careful when using _______, it can sting
_______ contains a lot of potassium
Lets make soup using _____ and ____
_____ pie!
Lets make ______ using _____
Lets eat ______ with _______
_______ flavoured chips
What's that smell? _________
What's in the oven? ________
Use _____ as a marinade
Rich in ______ and ______
What spilled? __________

Not what I was expecting...

In your thread about "ZatchBell TCG" and the spellbook it uses, you briefly mentioned a cooking game. This threw me for a loop. When you initially mentioned the game, I was thinking the game would be more like a game with characters (Chefs), each with their own personalities (like one uses a lot of Pepper so he sneezes a lot or another one uses salt so he gets angry often, etc.)

Something more thematic... I see your game is more like a Party game. I'm not disappointed - you just had me going in another direction with the "cookbook" idea...! :)

True. It took a big turn. But

True. It took a big turn. But I'm working on a challenge, all my games at this point are food themed, for a project my mother is working on. I'm just trying to spit out as many game ideas as I can to find the one that is the most enjoyable and fits best. This one was a quick one, as it is basically already done (only making the cards takes time).

The recipe book one is stalling me a lot, as I can't figure out the conflict to be resolved.
