Need Play Testers? I need some Developers!

Greetings,

As you know it's very hard to find quality play testers for your games. I am on the final stages of setting up a new site to help game developers find people to play test as well as handle the scheduling and feedback processing for these games.

I would like to go live with this site once it has a few games listed in its database. No point in sending players there without any for them to look into playing. So, asking you developers directly to point you to the site in hopes that you'll list your game with us.

To add your game go here: http://www.playtesters.net/addgametype.php

We do not host any images or files so you'll need to point to your site or your BoardGameGeek.com page. PlayTesters.Net site is for board games, computer games, and pen & paper role-playing games.

Just so you know who I am, you may checkout my bio page at http://www.JamesMathe.com - but in short I'm pretty well connected in the gaming community and run several large websites with lots of potential play testers. I will also be spending some time and money promoting this new site in the next few weeks so your game would get additional exposure.

Thanks for your time.

Awesome

James,

Great looking site and an awesome service you are hosting. I hope some of our members will take advantage of it. Thanks for the link to us by the way, much appreciated!

Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks for the kind words. I've made some more updates to the site including leaving feeback about games. Soon as I get a few more games listed that are accepting playtesters then I'll start promoting the site to the public.

Wow!

That is exactly what I need. But first I need some information:

Since I am willing to publish through Print and play, it's a bit touchy to give all the rules and print-out to somebody on the internet.

So I was wondering if there could be some sort of reputation registration for each user. Could it be possible to sign NDA forms, or the equivalent.

Also, most of the time, play testing mean matching the right players with the right game. So can the user describe their taste and the designer describe their game so that the mix and match goes more accurately if for example I would like to send the rules for play test to a restricted amount of people, I would like to select the best players for my game.

Synergy?

It seems like there should be some synergy between your site and my own site - www.cardgameforge.com. My site caters to CCG/TCG developers (they can post their games for others to view/print/discuss).

I have a feeling that many of the developers posting to my site are in need of playtesters (or at the very least would be interested in learning about your site).

Send me a message if you would like to discuss further.

You're not forced to link to or hand out the rules. You can ask that they email you. There is also an NDA link in the game setups if you want to show that by yourself. As I mentioned, we don't host any files so you're in control of them.

The next phase of development will be around earning points and reputation. But it takes some usage and acceptance of the site for that to work so I'm kind of waiting to see how it goes first. No reason to do all that extra work now.

Yes... the users/players are allowed to add their skill levels in many categories of games. You can then search those players and contact them to point them to your game.

I'd gladly swap logos on the front page if you like. I'll dig around your site to see if I can find one for you. I'll also post to the forums if I can find the right place.

Sweet

I'm a bit busy right now, but I will soon search for a good way to present your site. I'll let you know when I come up with something. You can contact me at tdishman at gmail dot com.

live players via interenet or via real face to face

I'm curious about the site but I'm looking for playtesters face to face. I want to see the players reactions during the game. Right now I'm looking on Meetup.com for some local players although I'm definitely willing to explore other ways to find playtesters.
