Hey everyone! I wanted to let you guys know about my Kickstarter project that went live this morning. My goal is to bring custom dice to a price level that is more affordable.

Thought this might be of interest to some of the designers here!

Looks awesome and you already

Looks awesome and you already have close to 5K pledged. I'll make sure to make a pledge once the paycheck arrives :)

Available after the Kickstarter?

This is a fantastic (and very affordable) idea!

Will the products be available for custom order after the kickstarter is complete, or will the kickstarter pretty much set the available dice for sale later on?

Thanks! Glad you guys like

Good question - The goal is to get everything set up so I can continue to take custom orders long after the KS project is done and rewards have been fulfilled. I just need to get the equipment and supplies necessary to do that.

On a related note, I am planning to expand into other shapes and sizes of dice as well, though that may or may not end up making it into this project as a stretch goal.

Thinking about backing...

I really think this is a noble endeavour. But I'm having a hard time figuring how much I should invest. Personally I think it would be cool to be able to have some custom dice designed for prototypes.

Here are the dice I want to use for my current WIP (I'll share just because I think your project can benefit from them):

Never know what other game might need custom dice. I personally like dice, so I could picture using custom dice in one of my next projects...

The gold pips and the darker colours add a real nice feel to the dice... I'm was not planning to have any logos like in the samples. They are samples I found from another Kickstarter. Any how I like the way they looked and so I saved an image of them...

Still got 30 days to decide! :P

Note: These dice have a more "rounded" feel... I find that it adds to their attraction... Maybe considering more curvy dice could be something you might want to consider in the future...!

Note 2: I really think that having dice with more "smokey" colours may result in more professional looking dice. If you could have like my sample (mix of Black and Royal Blue or Black and Wine Red) or perhaps like at Chessex (http://www.chessex.com) such as this:

That might add more customers to your dice. And maybe you could charge a little more for these kinds of dice. Again just some ideas for your custom dice project! I know Chessex dice are popular (but expensive).

very nice

I like it.
When (not if but when) your kickstarter is successful I believe you'll be inundated with orders. Such a hardship for a business to suffer. Well I figure you'll just gin and bear it.

Backed.

Backed and Twittered. I'd say good luck but I don't think you need it! I think this is a winning idea and I'd like you to succeed.

Yeah, I'd eventually love to add as many different options like that as I can. I just need to build a foundation of options before I start spreading out too much.

My reasoning behind choosing what I did for the initial offering is this: The closer to standard the options are, the more people it's going to appeal to right off the bat. Once I get a solid foundation built with the more standard colors I can begin filling it out with less standard or more premium styles.

I'm already beginning to add more premium paint colors with some of the metallic and fluorescent colors unlocking through FB/Twitter sharing stretch goals.

One we get past our base goal, I'll be able to begin adding additional styles of dice with financial stretch goals.

Just wanted to update this to

Just wanted to update this to say that we hit a stretch goal and can offer them with rounded corners now. So if that is your preference, you've got that option.

We are also coming up on the last 48 hours of the project!
