Hello everyone,
Its been oh so long since I've been here.
So here is the update.
1: Character / unit playmat had been designed for all 3 players.
2: Designed 2 different Battle grids for character / unit ranking.
3: Monster list with everything else is at 2,059. Yes, The list wad shorten to accomidate where current monsters will fit in the chapter decks.
4: Created a 15th playable character. This character will be featured in t
he second novel called" The Wicked Tangle Chronicles".
5: The 5 novel titles have been finalized.
6: We have a second continuation novel series in the works and a new title for a chapter deck
7: We are also in the works of another card game that is played with stanadard playing cards that will have many different themes with the same title as different expansions. Its called" Dungeon Hall". The first game theme is a hack n' slash treasure loot game. Pretty much a filler game.

Dymino Monsters is...

Hello Chaz,
Yes, Dymino Monsters is a LCG, but we are going with the term, N.C.C.G. Novel Customizable Card Game. Chapter deck will be sold every three to four months. Players will have 80 cards per box and will contain a chapter from the novel the deck is from. All chapter decks are allowed to play with all other chapter decks from the 5 novels.

DM is a 1 to 3 player game or can be played as a dual game.

Update: Dymino Monsters

Dymino Monsters recieved great feedback by our members on facebook. We have show cased our prelude playmat deck, some character rough draft designs, multi-player battlefield playtests, dual playtests on two of our playmat prototypes.

Created 46 new monster encounters making our monster encounter list 2,119.

We will also be inerviewed by WaywardTproductions who arebased in South Carolina. Made friends with Grant Johnson who is the producer, owner and a little bit of everything in game designs, voice over actor, extra in movies, t.v shows and more.

Hello everyone, Wow a year

Hello everyone,

Wow a year since I have been on BGDF.

The interview did not take place like planned in December 2014.
That's okay. Next time.

Our monster list is now at 2,191.

We are having our game title redesigned by SEDA Interactive. A group of comic artist, board and card game designers in the Philippines. Great group of people who I talk to on a daily basis.

Completed 10 prototype chapter decks. Working on 3 old chapter decks at the same time.

I'm also working on the prelude chapters and first and second main chapters for the first novel.

Completed all of the current prototype location playmats for playtesting and for normal playing.

4 new playable character cards with storylines have been added to the character roster.

A new group page as been added to Facebook. Its called,"Dymino Monsters. / Rygar Kingdom. Come on over and check it out.

New Update for Dymino Monsters

Prelude chapter 2 is near completion. Working on main storyline for Dymino's chapter:Road To Tylune.

Finally took some time to draw some foilage and rock formations for our four player prototype battlefield location playmat. Now to add color.

Since March of 2015 to present day I have changed some deck titles, removed unnesseccary monster names that dont need to be in the game or in a particular chapter deck.

I have created new monsters for the storyline and game play. Added four new characters for allies and suballies.

We have two new playtesters in our group. One of those new playtesters is also our new and only colorist for the monster and character drawings.

We have 15 prototype chapter decks complete able playable.

It may very well just be me

It may very well just be me and my little group, but I have to say that novel tie-ins rank right up there with rectal prolapse for things that I don't want out of a game. Yours may be different, but every book I've seen of this sort has read like the excerpt here:

As soon as a KS project mentions a self published ebook by an unknown author, I'm out of there, and I've yet to meet anyone who views them as a value added game feature. One big reason is that they tend to signal that the game revolves around the author's Mary Jane creations rather than giving the players a sense of forging their own narratives. Focus on making a great game, but make sure that your backstory is self-contained within said game without requiring players to reference a few hundred thousand words of text to fully appreciate.

Novel backstory

Hello Soulfinger,

I agree with what your saying. The novel to the game is self contained to the game mechanics. Players is not required to read our chapters within each chapter deck box. I created the game with my team to be played by how ever the players decides to play. The game has simple core rules and advanced rules sets. The advanced rules set has techniques for players to incorporate to their style and then go from their. The chapters that will be with the chapter decks will be put together at the end as a full story. And the story chapters are an added feature.

We believe in our game and story and the game with out this story deserves this detail.

We have talked alot about which process to develope this game and as the creator of Dymino Monsters, there is no need for this game to be as a kickstarter project.

Prelude chapter update.

Just finished writing prelude chapter 2 and now writing prelude chapter 3: The Loss of a Brother Prince.

1: No new monster creations updates.
2: Playtested the Rygar Kingdom playmat with the General cards a month ago. the general cards works quite well

Prelude chapter update

I have been writing every few days or more than that and I am now on page 61 in prelude chapter 5. One more prelude chapter which will be a long chapter due to the action and then knto the main storyline where Dymino's storyline starts. Which by the way has already started a month back but kept going back to the prelude. Also, I will be writing a seven short history storyline prior to the prelude.

20 new monsters have been created for the game world.
Two new playmats have been drawn but not colored yet.

You seem very committed

Well Stormy,

It looks like you are very committed to the design of your game. And for that I commend you. Like myself, it has been over 2 years in the development of "Tradewars - Homeworld" and things are moving forwards - but slowly...

I get the impression you don't want to "rush things". That's the way I feel. There are still the Reviewer copies that I have produced TEN (10) sets, so actually twenty (20) game sets.

My short list looks like this:

-1 in Canada
-1 in Mexico
-2 in Europe
-6 in USA

Most are free - but I do have a bit of a budget to "invest" in some video previews of the game. My focus will be strongly on the GAME not the components (no box) or artwork (limited). We are not going to show off a finished product since we're not there yet.

Tell me, how goes all the ARTWORK for these "monsters"??? Are you doing it yourself or have you found an artist to collaborate with?

Hi questccg,

Congrats on your game projects on how far you have come. Yes, I'm very commited to this project. I have designed some other smaller games in the down time for Dymino Monsters. Which isn't to much of a down time. Even so some times a month. It all depends on whats being worked on for my flagship game.

To answer your question about the artwork. I have drawn up some rough draft monsters but I come up with the creature design and its effects more than the artwork design. I do how ever think about how it may look like, what its habitat is and how it attacks and defends itself in the habitat it lives in. So I go from there from my imagination of color scheme and other details.

For the artist part of collaboration. No, sadly, No artist yet. There were a few helpers who has offered conceptual artwork but that didn't plan out. So, I'm not to worried right now. I do have one art concept for the very first monster for the game. It was drawn in 2012 by my cousin. Great job. Then in November 2012, after putting it off for so long, I finally sat down and scanned the concept artwork and took two days on painting it on my paint program on my computer. Its not bad really. Its decent for what I have and proud of the color scheme for the monster but I know it can be way better in a digital format. And at the moment, I don't have the funds for such programs such as Coral Draw or Adobe paint software.

Other than that really, thats whats most of the time making it slow in the game design. Again, I'm not going to rush this large game. It doesn't need to be rushed. So there for I have taken my time.

We as in my small team of playtesters and co-designer have talked alot about the game box artwork and its design. What the contents will be and so forth. That parts has been long done now.

So now I have been saving up to pay for an artist or two actually I would like to get at least five due to the immense character / monster roster. Its still climbing up the number list but slowly.

New update

Created 14 new monster encounters.
2 new armour sets.
4 new trap cards for a certain monster conjurer.
2 new races.
Prelude chapter 5 is almost complete.

Update

A few days ago I I put the first of many skill ranking character sheets together for the Page to King skill set. It contains 60 cards in the set.

Wrote two more pages to Prelude chapter 5.

Will laminate the newest prototype playmats after their colored and design new ones in the coming weeks.

New update:

Titan names will be renamed to fit the storyline and game.

Found a few more old monster lists from a few months of this year that has been looked at and changed to fit game.

Prelude chapter 5 is now on page 64. Its been a full month of life getting in the way to write but I have been developing scenes for the next few chapters.

A new playmat of Tylune city will be drawn up for solo and multiplayer campaigns.

Laat night I was invited to rpg.net with Dan for a Q&A forum to listen to Michael Crawford talk about his team working on Through The Breach that will coincide with Malifaux. It was awesome stuff to hear the details of Through The Breach.

After that Dan, the host asked about Dymino Monsters. So I told the 65 people in the room about the details of Dymino Monsters. It was not much to tell but it was a good small chat about discussing my game.

New update: Creature / Monster and Playmat

During the course of tonight, I have some ideas for a new creature / monster species with subspecies in the category. Locations for the new creatures / monsters are forests, mountains, deserts and swamps.

Possible other locations are rolling hills and plains. Stay tuned for that.

In other news, I finally got some time to work on the playmats connecting to Road To Tylune playmat.

From the creator's desk:

I finally came up with 10 skill abilities for my Archer class character. This character like the rest of our characters will have 60 unique skill abilities that our players can obtain during their leveling up in solo campaigns.

We have at the moment 14 characters that will accompany with our main protagonist in the first epic novels. There may be new playable characters in the next second epic.

Archer Character skill attribute update.

These skills can be used in a series of connecting skills for more added affects to damage or defense. The skills also have a point system when your character levels up.

So when your character has leveled up to his or her highest skill rank, you are allowed to combine upto 4 cards in a single attack or defense that makes plausible sense for you as a human can achieve.

Oh. Think about what I just wrote. Think what you can do as an athlete or combat technician or as in our real world in an action cinema film.

This idea goes for all of our character for movement.

I have 27 skill attributes in total this morning. I have created 11 new skills and 32 left remain for just the Archer character. The Page to Knight rank skill attribute has been completed a few months ago.

New update: Three new feaatures

We have talked about these features a quite sometime now and are going to add them.

1: Character health point system. We have our own system name and function for all the characters within Dymino Monsters.

2: Blacksmith creation cards. Players can create and fix weapons for their character cards.

3: In solo, co-op and multiplayer campaigns can help their team mates by giving or dividing the players health points or (health gems) to other team mates during battle against the game.

Note: Players/characters will obtain their Health gems after every ten targets down. Max health gems are 50. Fifty health gems equal to 500 health points. The gems are 10 point gems each.

Added four new locations to the world of TriiDorium.

These locations will tie into the Sun Sword of TriiDorium.

In other news:

We are still working on the Rise of the Titans new names and there are 15 names to come up with. Its been a very slow process and three months. Yes we understand why it has been such a long time to just come up with names or just add something random but we like to converse on each Titan character that suits its final name for the final product.

Character Health Point System

Last night I purchased 6 pebble bags for the mockup of our character health point system. Each bag contains 90+ pebbles for what we need to prototype our health system. Each bag cost 1 dollar. Not bad. This weekend I will assemble a DM game for the new character health system and invite our other playtester who has been busy and show him the new setups.

Weapon skill ability update

The hammer skill ability list was completed last night. Now to work on the prototype cards.

8 of the 14 New names for the Rise of the Titans chapter deck are on the list. Will have the last six names for this chapter deck tonight.

The first novel is still in the works and has been written for about two months do to everything else in life. I am in chapter five nearly finished to begin writing the main storyline.

The newest playmat with the connection to Road to Tylune is 50% drawn. I just need to fill in the interior of the rooms.

A few new monsters have been created also for the list.

The 14 new names for my Rise of the Titans chapter deck has been completed earlier this morning.

In other news the hammer skill abilities with new hammer weapons list is complete. Now to work on the prototype cards.

Dead Dreams Chapter Deck.

Going back through this deck after a good long while and saw that I have 15 monsters left for this deck. That will make it 60 cards in all and remake these prototype cards for game play demo.

Will be working on other chapter decks this week with finishing up chapter 5 and 6 in the novel itself. Been busy as of late and have been trying to get to these other side projects for Dymino Monsters.

Will also be working the the other weapon skill abilities.

Finishing up the connected playmat for Road to Tylune playmat. Hand color the old playmats then laminate them for demo play.
