Congratulations

Awesome to hear that Kris. Keep up the great work on your game, the CS launch and newest game plan for storytelling and webpages.

Also, no worries about over taking my thread. Projects. Tons really.

Well. Tons could be a number of things.

1: 2 brand new games putting together. Rough drafts, larping the games actually as anime battle games. Pretty cool and silly stuff.

2: 3 old games that have been prototyped and playtested by the playtesters group who also help with (DM).

3: A Slo-Mo Action Larping Campaign which involves four generation storylines.

4: The Fourth generation storyline is our Sci-Fi 4Th wall pun comedy webseries on which we are on Transcript Season 01-Ep-5 of beginning to write up tomorrow night.

So. There's all that. And still working on DM. Just pace yourself.

Don't rush on your projects. Keep up the great work everyone.

Happy hunting,
Stormy.

One more thing

New live interviews with BC Games on the Younow.com website next Saturday.

Its a great opportunity to show all of your game demos there if you want to recieve a new audience for marketing.

We had our first interview with BC Games a few weeks ago. The game designer and owner asked us to interview them. So we did. It was pretty cool.

This interview was after the fact of having David Dylan of Be Legend: Ragnorok asked us to interview him. So two months back I wrote on my fb page that I was going to start interviewing new game designers in the future for fun and see how it goes.

So for right now. BC Games has taken the opportunity to do the interview. Its such a great time to meet and greet with new game designers or startupgame companies from around the world and share advice, knowledge in game designs and productions.

Happy hunting,
Stormy.

Hey Stormy what's the channel name on younow.com? I saw 3 "BC Games" options on the search. Thanks!

The one with SuperTooned!

I think this is the correct "channel": https://www.younow.com/BcGames

I recognize Jesse and his newphew from a Facebook video about Jesse's mammoth game Dymino Monsters. He was showing some of the colored playmats which looked pretty original ... never seen anything like that before then.

So the playmats and "areas" of the game add a HUGE amount of replayability. Even if you do battle, you do so in different areas and use different strategies even when playing the same playmat...

Cool stuff Jesse!

Younow

Thats correct Kris.

When you search for BcGames on Younow.com. Look for 1 star , BcGames , 2 fans on searching for channels.

Or as Kris has already mentioned, look for Dymino Monsters_01 or SuperTooned and click on the Fans of icon.

Also Kris,

Thank you once again for the awesome feedback.

Yes all playmats are truely one of a kind and from my own imagination and are a geomorph isometric view playmats for the cards.

Thank you everyone for the on going support and great feedback for this enormous project.

Happy hunting.

Check out Younow.com and search for WaywardTProductions777.

Meet and greet with my long time friend Grant who has been in movies and t.v. as extras and is or has been creating some card games.

I told him that I had an idea for the younow.com.

My idea is to have a real time game development with the audience from around the globe where we teach the basics of coming up with a board or card game from total scratch and prototype it there on screen and for the audience to take those ideas, their own drawings , concept etc to design and teach others.

In our last three sessions and one other live game session with Supertooned (my nephew) we came up with three brand new games from scratch and we had some live feedback developing the game live. Which was pretty cool.

The audience was small for now but Grant (WaywardTproductions777) has been doing more #MakinggamesLive on the younow.com channel the last few weeks and just had one tonight at 07:30 p.m. Eastern Standard U.S.A. Time.

See you all there.

Brand New Update

Good evening everyone,

Here are the newest updates on Dymino Monsters.

1: Stone Bridge prototype play mat has been drawn three weeks ago and is still in black in white. We have come up with a color scheme to it as well. Just haven't color it in yet.

2: Waterfall prototype play mat, wooden bridge play mat and a few other play mats have been pre-designed before commencing onto the large scale prototype play mats.

3: Archive Soldier Weapon Skill Technique list has finally been worked on and came up with some neat details combining other deck sets in the play to help out the Archive Soldier.

4: There are still 5 weapon skill technique list sets to complete and that will be soon.

5: New locations and monsters have been created during June, July and August of 2016.

6: The first novel is still being worked on and will be changed from a novella style format to a transcript format. When that will happen? Next year. Due to other projects in the works now.

7: No new play testing has been done since June 2016. Been pretty busy with other projects in the works that have started November 2014 and those projects has also come along way since August 2016.

8: Other newer smaller games not part of the Dymino Monsters Universe has also been started, acted out and started out on those projects to just get something on the page.

So far so good.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Good evening

I have just uploaded my new duel play mat in the prototype gallery. It has a small description about it.

I am also working on the last weapon skill technique deck for the mimic artist. Then to work on other decks for this first franchise game set.

More play mats will be drawn for the other locations this week and for the up coming months. Stay tuned.

Tonight's update:

I started drawing a new play mat Sunday night and finished shading in the play mat last night while watching the Presidential debate. The new play mat and the future of all play mats will not be shown, but rest assured I will announce the newest play mats start and completion dates.

I am also still working on the last weapon skill technique deck for the mimic artist. I and my play test / staff members have been working on our other projects at the same time and also have been enjoying the weekend at the local park while LARPING.

Other than that, that is all that is new for updates.

Stay tuned for more updates.

During this week

This week includes 4 play mats that connect to create one large location. The waterfall location. The waterfall location also includes the wooden bridge play mat that was supposed to be drawn a few weeks back until now. The waterfall play mat can also be separated into 4 play mats for more players.

The total play mats is 14.

The outline is complete. Now to fill in the background of each of the four play mats and then hand color them all in.

I am still working on putting the text to the prototype cards for the last seven weapon skill technique sets.

Still more to come.

Three weapon skill techniques left

Yes, the title is the same from a previous post here, but I went back to change some skill techniques to the others and got them completed.

Tonight while at the local laundry mat, I started working on the Whip W.S.T. I completed 24 of the prototype cards from the list. I messed on two cards, but that is okay. I jotted down each attack point system to each number on the list and began the text.

I think I can get the rest of the whip list completed tonight before going to bed.

Then to allocate the attack and defense point system to the Dagger Fan and Mimic Artist and Book W.S.T. cards.

Then to work on the last 7 remaining chapter decks for this first novel franchise series. Then after that, I will work on the drawing the prototype play mats for some of the locations in the story line.

So far so good.

Last week I have calculated each deck number that has been completed and for the remaining decks with an estimated guess on how much each chapter deck will contain. That total is 3,592 cards.

That is correct. Again even if this game makes it to my customers, I will only be selling each chapter deck with rules and the game mechanic every other month during the course of the novel set. So you , the customer will not be bombarded with these many cards at one time. Each chapter deck will contain the max set of cards from 80 to 102 cards. The minimal chapter deck is 9 cards with rules and half a world map for that chapter deck that is in the story line. Then when all is said and done, the players can customize their own decks from out of the 24+ chapter decks provided from the first novel series. That customized chapter deck can be a max of 80 monster cards from any of the chapter decks or a set of the TriiDorium World Monster sets.

There are three different world factions as well with their own units that have 14 different categories to use on the field during a multiplayer campaign. There will be rules and regulations for this set up to. Don't worry, the rules are simple and easy to follow and will have artwork for different styles you can choose from as examples before playing or a variation there of.

Stay tuned for more updates as we count down to the last chapter deck for the first novel series.

Brand New upodate

Saturday at 2 a.m. I finally completed the fourth section to the prototype waterfall location play mat. It is the first largest play mat in Dymino Monsters history to date. The second largest play mat is the Road To Tylune play mat coming in at 3 play mat lengths.

In other news:

I have also kept the Voyage of the DoomSetter deck and it contains 40 cards now. All I have to do is now is just allocate the offense and defense point system to these cards and set this aside to get back to work on the mimic artist weapon technique deck. Most of the prototype index cards have been completed already, I just need to complete the +4 attack / defense set, the +6 attack / defense set and half of the last part of the +8 attack / defense point system. Then to work on the last 8 chapter decks of this novel franchise.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Brand new update

Voyage of the DoomSetter deck has been completed last night at 11:51p.m. I have considered to allow players to use this deck as a normal chapter deck other than just a monster story deck that you couldn't play. So now, players can use this deck with any of the other chapter decks through out the franchise of Dymino Monsters.

The Mimic artist w.s.t. character deck. I am having a bit of difficulty with this deck and I have been thinking of putting this character as a Collectors' Character deck. Seeing that this w.s.t (weapon skill technique) is so unique and or just so darn difficult to figure out how to get the player to use the cards to pull from the draw pile is right up there to pulling my teeth out. But alas, no worries. I will get it completed when I can come to reason with my self to come up with a unique way to have players use this character in the future. So for now, the Mimic Artist will go to the Collectors Deck Category. Players will still be able to play with this character on the field or other locations during the story line or in solo campaigns, co-op and multiplayer campaigns.

Now to work on the last chapter decks within the first novel.

Tonight's update

As I am watching the election vote on CNN, I had worked on the projected analysis of my own for my game,"Dymino Monsters".

1) I went back over the projection of the last 12 chapter decks to begin prototyping the text for the cards and I have moved them around to other novels in the franchise.

2) I have removed one chapter enhancement deck that wasn't really needed to begin with. Yoink!

3) With the last 12 chapter decks moved around and now have stabilized the end chapter decks, I now only need to work on the remaining 6.

4) I am also going to work on more isometric landscape play mats and other locations that our heroes and heroines will travel to, combat through and rest in.

Thank you all for the ongoing support, the great feedback and for the views of these updates as the weeks go by. Most appreciated.

Bows respectfully.

New artwork added in the prototype artwork file on the site.
There are two more sections for this prototype waterfall location that I will not add to this site. I have added the section 2 to show what the next section looks like while playing with this game.

Brand New Update

Ladies and Gentlemen;

This weekend I will have the last chapter deck completed for the first novel franchise. This has been a grand adventure for the first twelve years in the making for Dymino Monsters. Dymino Monsters is actually version 2.0 from an older game I was creating back in 1999 named Typhoon Fighters.

After this weekend I will be working on more play mat designs, working on my 4th wall comedy pun web series manuscripts and another brand new game for my collection of games and I will be writing the first novel chapters for Dymino Monsters also in manuscript format. After the long hiatus of say two or three months, I will then start back up for the second novel franchise for Dymino Monsters.

I will also be working on the rules, play testing or game playing some more with the new chapter decks. I have also decided to bring back the black smith deck into the Dymino Monsters game as well.

Thank you all once again for the support, feedback and the awesome game views. I will also be checking in from time to time by helping out other game designers with our opinions, suggestions and ideas or concepts as well. So i (Team Dymino Monsters) is not gone.

Stay tuned for more updates.

I'm doubting this as a "KS-able" venture. If you've worked with artists, timelines and deadlines, you're sure to figure out: "If it takes you over 1 year or more to design all the artwork - NO KS backer is going to wait that long, no matter how impressive the game is."

What I have been seeing is 6 months seems to be the longest people should wait for KS games. Anything longer and nobody will back the game.

So a game like @Jesse's with a ton of cards and illustration to do, probably needs to find some PARTNER who is willing to invest with several artists with a similar artistic output in order to make the game a reality. You may need 3 to 5 different artists to render the game in a reasonable amount of time.

Finding the right artist is HARD. Finding several of them - is even harder! And then there is the BUDGET and per piece pricing that is another point.

I think @Jesse needs to find someone who will "buy-into" the Dymino Monsters concept. And then work together in making the game a reality. IMO this kind of game is NOT KS-able unless it finds the right partner.

That is correct

Thank you for helping out with the information Kris.

Back in 2012 when the theme came about for Dymino Monsters and along side with so many cards, I knew in my heart that this game will never see a KS format.

Reason (s)

1: There isn't really any award system for this game to be on a KS format.

2: Finances.

3: Artists. See number 2. There are many talented people / artists that I have seen and talked to and some have helped out with their time by rendering my facebook page of my game title. Thank you Dan Pueblo and his team who lives in the Philippines to help out another game designer from the other side of the world with that rendering.

4: This game has so many cards that I would need to hire at least 10 artists to divide the artwork for this project. But that is okay. Since being on a 12 year production design run, I knew this game was going to be huge. Huge as in creating the cards, mechanics, play testing, and for the fans. Seeing at 2004 perspective, I didn't know how huge the game would have as such a following as we see today.

Passion, creativity, sanity, long hours of labor. There was no real need to rush into getting this game out on the market even if I did have a budget. I am in no rush. With the last prototype chapter deck nearly complete and this evening I brought back in the blacksmith deck I am in a most humble emotional state of mind that with so long of a project, I will actually hate to see that its complete for the first novel franchise chapter decks.

In Spring time a friend of mine is allowing me to have a play test with his family and friends to showcase of Dymino Monsters as see how that goes. I can't wait for that.

5: Budgeting and timing,

6: Wooden Boxes and or card board box? I already know the answer to that.

7: Just because the chapter deck will be complete soon. Real soon, I still need to draw out the play mats by hand. Plus this will give me more time to go over the finer details during game play. Missions, tasks, story line, clues, puzzles. All of these items will also be included into each novel set I put out. Again, let me say that, if this game does come out in the future, I will let you all know. I believe in my games. My games talk for themselves. Updating is the key to success.

There is more to all of this but I won't bore everyone, but that all consists of finances and at the moment, I don't have it.
Why did I create this game so long ago, 12 years ago, if I didn't have the funds. My answer to that is. I wanted to see something new. I love large projects. I wanted to see how much passion I had for this game. I wanted to see how long it would take me to create this game world. I want to see the players reactions during game play. The strategy, the tactics, the laughs and the holy cow hits and near misses, the interaction of how the game reacts to the players and the characters. I have achieved that and alot more in this game.

Could it work? Yes. The game mechanic is so simple. Will I showcase that mechanic? Not yet. With so many ideas, concepts, ideas, drawings, story line, play testing involved and talking to my play testers and other game designers from around the world and talking to those game designers new to game design, ametaurs or even experts in the board and card game designs and even in video game designs. That is the joy and excitement I have encountered. That is why this game has made me kept going.

Just like everyone else here. You wanna see how everyone will react to your game. The joy, the pitfalls, the achievements during the game ideas to a full working game on store shelves.

Here is the people of who I have helped out during the last three years in their game designs.

1: Kris Kycia
2: Chenier La Seille
3: Todd Mika
4: David P.
5: Bill Barber
6: Grant Johnson
7: Some to most members here on bgdf.
and many more.

I have designed 15 other smaller games. I create my own because I can't afford to buy main brand games. That is the fun, passion to create games.

Scratches head. Um. Yeah sort of got of track there. eh.

Stormy.

If I don't get any traction...

I'm going to do like @Jesse! Just focus on World-Building ... instead of games. See designing a game means you need to "invest" in the game with time and other resources like Graphic Designers, Artists, Writers, etc. If I can't afford to do that anymore, I'll simply focus on creating a "universe". To what purpose? Well if I can't afford to hire a writer, might as well spend time writing and creating something that could be interesting (at some later time).

Maybe I take a step away - to invest time in something less tangible - but could have a greater scope for a later time. To build something over a period of time and see how (in the end) it goes... When I've taken time to amass the funds for a new venture.

Some people do it for the "creative outlet"... Just like I'm sure @Jesse feels about Dymino Monsters. It's a "creative work" ... that needs to be appreciated for all of the various details and effort put into making/designing that world.

Wishing you all the best @Jesse!

Note: Having been highly criticized for how I wanted to sell my game, has led me to listen what other people are saying. And maybe I didn't have an answer back them... but you'd better believe that I thought hard about it until I finally do have an answer today.

And so I feel very blessed ... and very thankful to people like @Jesse that helped out with suggestions, comments and even the criticism. Also we have a bunch of people who helped out with "nominations" too!!! We may be a small community, but every vote counts!

I'll be the first one to say, I'll return the favour should anyone else try to make a run at the Top 50...

And this is from experience too!

I'm in the "nitty gritty" of a joint KS-Launch. And we had to push back the KS date because we simply didn't want backers to wait for our time constraints on artwork.

What I mean by this, is nobody is going to wait 8 months for artwork to get done.

Working with the time table, we've reduced the time to 3 months. Feasible. And it's reasonable wait time.

Sure we would have wanted to launch earlier... But not realistic based on the deadline and timelines that we have to produce all of the "extended" artwork for the game.

If you do KS, you'll learn that it's important to follow protocol. That's what I have learnt so far. And it makes sense. Wonder why people aren't offering any T-Shirts or Mugs as rewards anymore??? It's because of protocol. People are interested in buying A GAME! Not merchandise of your brand. KS has rules even if you don't think so...

Note: What this means is not every game is KS-able. Just picture @Jesse's logistical nightmare: his game is a TCG (Trading Card Game), as such he will need to package his game in boosters, the max. number of items you can sell in KS is 10, so he can maybe sell up to 10 boosters.

Now he's got to create all the boosters and then how does he ship all of them? If each backer gets 10, well then he needs to package everything in a box, where does his rulebook go? If they're separate boosters, how does he include a rulebook? Okay each box has to include a rulebook...

Is he going to handle all the assembly manually? What about his game's playmats? Which do you include??? Will a playmat fit into the box? And since most gamers want enough cards/components to at least play two (2) players - (and probably closer to 4 Players) - oh well there goes KS! Logistics don't work aside from financing...

First Franchise Novel complete

Last night I finished all of the last three decks for the first novel franchise decks.

Now to work on more prototype play mats, revising the rules for all of the different variations for the different styles in game play.

Work on campaign mission cards and tasks and other details for the players during game play and other formats.

Thank you everyone for the support, great feedback and concerns for my game Dymino Monsters.

Now to continue on writing the manuscripts for our 4th wall comedy pun web series. Which by the way, we are at manuscript episode 10 for the first season series.

Tonight I will set up a game picture of what has been accomplished through out the years on this project for everyone to see.

Brand New Update

Last night in 7 1/2 hours and 4 minutes I created a brand new deck with 125 prototype cards.

This deck is used for buying and selling weapons and armor from the blacksmith deck which is also has been completed. This new deck of the 125 cards can be found during campaigns as players find monies along the way to purchase new upgrades or fix their old weapons and armor.

Stay tuned for more updates.

So what is up for today?

Since the last update on 12/12/2016, I have worked on several new prototype playmats. More on are still being worked on once I get more poster boards and start to lay out the designs for new locations.

In Other news:

Our Beyond the Horizon 4th Wall Comedy Pun Web series manuscript is now on Episode 11. On Dec. 31, 2016 I started working on the script that Saturday at 11:43 a.m. for 45 minutes at the laundry amt and then when my crew came over, we continued working on the script at 8:43 p.m. and finished the script at 6:24 a.m. on Jan. 1 , 2017. This manuscript consists of 39 pages at 16 font. If it was at 11 font, the script would of been at 31 pages. I decided at the beginning to write the script at 16 font so we can see the text and easier to read, but all in all, the script is going quite well.

My crew and I will be at Animarathon BGSU on March 25, 2017 to showcase our Beyond the Horizon characters portrayed in our show. Not only that, I will be bringing a friend of mine who was an extra in several movies and two t.v. shows. He will be also bring a studio crew friend of his to do a live younow feed at Animarathon as well. Tons of stuff is being planned on that day. So we hope to hear or see some of you or watch our live feed. To much to explain hear but we are going to have a blast.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Brand New Update

A few weeks back I started and completed the prototype play mat for Sea of Opsis. The play mat I bought is blue so I didn't have to hand color it. It has 48 grid positions and 27 hex grid positions. We have not playtested on it yet.

In other news, I have created 23 out of 300 new monsters for the Wicker Tangle Chronicles second novella franchise chapter decks.

Brand New Update:

Almost did a double post. Ha.

Anyways , the news is that I created 4 more monster encounters for the Wicker Tangle Chronicles set. Its also getting close to Animarathon in March. Can't wait for that. Big plans with live video and a live panel and a cosplay skit for my team to showcase our original characters from our sci-fi 4th wall comedy pun webseries.
