Circle Punch

Hello there!

I'm working on a prototype (I haven't decided on a name for it yet) and apart from custom cards I want to add tokens as well. Now I could simply cut these out of paper, but my attention was brought to something that is called a Circle Punch. (See image.)

Now I'm sure these work great for thick paper, but preferably I'd like to make tokens that are something like 2 mm thick (like cardboard). However, from watching some videos online I don't think these things are cut out for it (pun intended).

Should I look for some other solution or are there Punches out there that are able to get the job done?

The punch will wear out

The punch will wear out faster than you'd think simply by cutting paper. Anything thicker will render it useless. So, cut paper with it and attach the paper to cheap plastic poker chips. I made a few hundred tokens this way.

I wouldn't say it can't cut anything thicker than paper, but it does wear out fast ill give it that, and is a really tough way to make tokens unless you are making a mock-up for a final product.

sticker paper and cheap tokens is a good prototype alternative though

This post ends with a pun

Oh, that's some good info in here. I got one of those circle punches and was disappointed to find how thin the material has to be. The arch punch looks cool... But yeah, probably tough work. Maybe i'll stick to stickers.

Woah, the arch punch looks

Woah, the arch punch looks great but I fear I lack the blacksmith skills that accompany it. XD

Think I'll go for the sticker idea for now, thanks for the help peeps! =)
