Hey everyone!

I've revisited Heist and changed it drastically to be a card drafting, set collection game with card abilities that helps bring the theme out more. Think 7 Wonders meets Colosseum meets Family Business.

Here's a Google Doc of the current rules. I wanted to get sample card images in there but I'll have to add that another time.

The second link works fine. I was able to view the document without problems.

I'll have a look at it today as well, and should be able to pass along some feedback for you.

Seems like an interesting

Seems like an interesting game. I've only got a few thoughts at the moment:

1. Do any of the "jobs" happen to be out of the world of Carmen San Diego? As I read the rules, all I could think of is "I hope I get to steal Mount Rushmore." Not sure if that's the direction you're going with this, but I think it would be great.

2. How long does the game last when you test play it? After reading the rules, I feel like a 3 round game wouldn't last very long.

3. I really don't like the word "moxie." Surely there's a better word. Perhaps "grit" or "backbone" or "guts" or something like that.

Keep it going. It sounds like a pretty fun game.

Thanks for the reply! 1. No,

Thanks for the reply!

1. No, they're all modelled after more realistic jobs, and a wide variety. Robbing banks, ransoms, hits, etc. But some of the more extreme ideas could find a way in...

2. I've only been able to playtest single rounds so far. I imagine a full game of three rounds will be about 1.5 times as long as 7 Wonders (so, anywhere from 45-75 minutes), since it has all of the drafting but adds an extra phase for special abilities and one for checking your "sets". I wanted to keep it around an hour or so. I really like "take that" games, but even I know too much of that can really get to people.

3. I agree I don't like it, but for awhile it was just stars so I needed a word to refer to in rules and on cards. I like "grit" out of your suggestions, since this is a "grittier" game.

Just realized I never said how many players - it is designed for 3 to 6 players.

Also...

The name.

When you search "Heist" on BGG, there are 12 things listed. Three of them are just "Heist". So... I need a new name...

NAME

I have a game called "Crime Wave" that I doubt will ever do more than just sit on my shelf. You can use that name if you like.
