Stealth Strategy Explosion

Stealth Logo TM TGC.png

Hello all!
Yep, I'm back and i bring a whole new stealth with me!
I hope some of you read and enjoyed my last three stealth blogs. This time i am back with a one of the best ones! While i was gone, i have been making stealth on TGC, looking for playtesters on BGG, and now i'm back to BGDF.

HERE'S HOW MY LITTLE STEALTH VENTURE IN THE BOARD GAMING WORLD WENT:

BGG
I started at BGDF. A really great way to bring my game out to fellow designers. From there, i went on to BGG, also a really great website having all awesome features like blogs, geeklists, geekgold etc. totally helpfull for designers to connect with gamers. Although the thing about BGG is, it is just really competetive. Everyone i just trying to get the attention of people and get likes and geekgold. The basic concept of sharing your game idea for getting feedback and discussing it further sometimes gets lost. But all in all, awesome site - if you get famous here, you are famous everywhere!

TGC
Next i went on to Game Crafter with my PnP of stealth. I planned to make it into an actual prototype through the TGC print on demand mechanism. I slowly started laying out the basic art. TGC has a vast shop. It is nice to just browse through game pages to get tips on how to format/make yours. The forums there are pretty not-so-active except for one or two. The one thing that made fall in love with TGC is also the thing i guess none of the other boardgaming websites have. The truely epic - TGC GENERAL CHAT!
I still go there everyday, not just to ask opinions or get help from fellow gamers, but to just hang around crack some jokes :P. Another cool thing is, the TGC admins are always online on the chat. And those guys are really polite and helpfull.
I found stealth's first playtester and second playtester on the chat! If you haven't tried out that yet, you are really missing out on something!

BOWER'S GAME CORNER
A great thing that happened was, i got to know about these various youtube shows that review boardgames. The challenge was finding a show reviewing UNPUBLISHED games. Then, i saw Bower's Game Corner a popular show that reviewed and previewed kickstaters and sent them and e-mail pitching my game. They were at that time at Gen Con and agreed to do a stealth preview! Now, the thing was, i was nowhere close to finishing my TGC prototype then. So, i really rushed up, made the TGC version doing the art myself, and sent them the prototype about a week after. Two interesting things:
I converted stealth PnP with very basic art to stealth TGC version with better art(i am not saying its great art, but its way better than the PnP) in 6-7 days!
I sent a professional review show the very first copy of stealth!
I am hoping that works out well. The preview is coming out this week from what was told to me by them!

I also just out of nowhere came up with an idea of starting stealth's very own Youtube show where i will post HOW TO PLAY, game play videos, game matches, theme enactions etc. and everything as stealth goes on. I released the first episode - HOW TO PLAY(on PnP) just a few days ago!

And i continue to go on the stealth venture further!

THIS IS WHAT I CREATED IN THAT TIME:

THE HOW TO PLAY YOUTUBE VIDEO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKV6mV8TK6k
This is first episode i mentioned earlier. It has an intro, how to play and theme explanation. Hope you like it! And if you do, don't forget to hit subscribe!
(i have been told it has come of as a little 'boasting', so excuse me if it comes of the same way, i was trying to advertise)

THE TGC GAME PAGE
https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/stealth
This is Stealth's shop page on TGC.
Here you can dive deeper into the game, read the the detailed plot, basic mechanics and much more. Most importantly, you can have a look at the art so far(the art is not polished right now, but i plan to
make it better bit by bit) and buy the actual version of stealth.

RULEBOOK
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7ka7212fmr5b2lq/AABjl2i7CfZjEFCCZsv61V3Va?dl=0
Short descriptions don't appeal to you? view the FULL COLORED rulebook and view the detailed and formatted rules. You will see 4 rulebooks, but don't worry, the first one has 'HOW TO PLAY' in it.
As the game has three phases, the 2nd and the 3rd have the game play on the rest of the two maps/phases.
The 4th has alternative ways to play and credits.

PRINT AND PLAY(UPDATED)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/gc4r742gqlv5t4s/Stealth%20PnP%20version%202.0....
Stealth PnP is downloadable for FREE! Just click on the link,
save the files, print them on A4 size sheets (black and white would do but colored is peffered) cut out the cards and there you'll have your very own stealth on your table! Stealth PnP offers you
with printing options given at the end of the files,
which help you print stealth in MINIMUM INK!

I hope you like them and i hope they get you interested in the game!
Any feedback, critique, comment is really appreciated. Playtests are really really really appreciated!
Thanks all!

Nice progress, T. Interesting

Nice progress, T.

Interesting how openly sharing design stuff with other folks not only gets you good feedback, but quite often it drives forward movement by giving you deadlines that matter.

Works that way for me quite often. ;-)

Yep,

thanks Matt! Yeah, designing is an art that never gets perfected. You always feel like doing something more, adding something more. Sharing it with other designers always gets you feedback that gets you thinking about making the game even better.

Deadlines are always funny though, you get a deadline and you plan a schedule, when it doesn't go according to schedule(never does for me :P), you plan a new one :-P

So, many times, if have a deadline of getting it done in 8 days, I plan my schedule to do it in 5 days. And I get it all done in 7 days.

Works for me every time ;-)
