Hi fellow designers,

I have been looking for a while now on the internet and different fora including this one, but can't find a proper answer to a question.

As i am working on a new game which probably will contain 12 pieces of 6D dice, i wanted to know what the costs probably will be when you will produce this game. When i take a look at chessex or spielmaterial i come to the following prices:

dice: €0,20
wooden marker: €0,08
glass stone: €0,08

Is this what you will pay as a producer? Or will it be cheaper?

Hope some people have experiences with it.

The dice probably will be normal dice, black with white dots and two blue dice with white dots. Not so much of custom dice inside.

Thanks,

William

Only for dice

I don't have experience with glass stones or wooden markers, but as for the dice, I'd expect to pay a little less merely because of currency and to get a discount depending on the size of the order.

You can buy your standard 16mm die for USD 0.23 (which is, right now, 0.16 Euro) and get prices down to 0.19 or 0.18 for a 200 unit block and even cheaper if you order more.

Chessex is a good place to

Chessex is a good place to get quotes. Alternatively you might want to try: http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId&Sea... or reach out to any of the manufacturers on this list: http://www.jamesmathe.com/hitchhikers-guide-to-game-manufacturers/

Cheers,

Alibaba looks amazing cheap,

Alibaba looks amazing cheap, don't know if those prices are right, but as far as i can see for now it makes a lot of difference in the prices considering what i have seen on chessex. But maybe they have discounters as well when you going to produce a lot more.

Tonight i will be playtesting the game again to see if the mechanics are working faster and will put both players more on risk.

I have some contact cards of manufacturers in China, so when i get closer towards publishing i will contact them for the real numbers and see if it's worth the shot.

Thanks for the replies and soon will be asking feedback on the mechanics here as well
