Hello everyone!

I first got into board games a few years ago; everytime I went back home (a few thousand kilometers away), I would have a board game day with my friends, but never pursued the hobby myself.

For some reason last month, I got an idea for a board game and followed through to see how interesting I could make it. 4 weeks, about 20 iterations and hours of boardgame research later, I thought I could use the many resources that BGDF has to offer! I've also started to add to my own board game collection, so if nothing else, I have a greater appreciation for games than I may have had before.

The game I have in mind is a basketball game focusing on team development, rather than simulation aspects. It might be an awful idea, but it'd be cool to see it come to fruition as a fun and entertaining game.

So that's my story. I am sure I will learn a lot here!

Hello!

welcome to you fellow gamer! Building a larger gaming library or playing more with friends can definitely spur on ideas and mechanics for your own designs.
As a basketball fan myself (Rockets) it is strange that i never noticed or played a basketball card or board game before so you your idea seems fresh to me.
Would you include actual collage or NBA teams or just be a fantasy type team development with made up teams? The later would probably be easier, less legal issues I guess :D Hope you find information you are looking for and best of luck, -Chad

Ha! where can a find your pocket games? If I remember correctly there is also bicycling, and more? I just recently put a PNP bicycle game on Boardgamegeek called Pedal Beach if you want to take a peek ;) Thanks for the info! -Chad

Ahh, found at pocket sports.com, out of basketball at the moment though.
