I wanted to keep everyone informed on the steps I'm taking going forwards with the Smoking Aces relaunch so, if successful, future Kickstarter designs have a few more things to look back on.

I'm putting up the preview for week in advance of the Kickstarter launch for reviews, questions and concerns.

Here is the link:

Thanks

Do you have a website for your project? Since the actual Kickstarter isn't up, maybe include that too?

Feedback

no particular order here...just observations;

the jump from $15 to $100 on the donation tier seems overly large; when I saw $100, I initially expected that it was a tier for brick and mortar store owners to back the project for multiple copies. Maybe convert the $100 to a tier for stores and drop the dual deck signed tier to $40?

Consider changing your personal delivery range to Minneapolis only; there are some very remote corners in Minnesota :)

Or, host a pick-up event / release party at a store in Minneapolis instead of personal delivery.

The intro video ended a little awkwardly; could be my system, but it ended with a still of the speaker and a semi-pixalated face

Immediately follwoing the Smoking Aces Rules header is the banner image for promotions. I think it would be good to have the rules follow the promo video and save promotions for the end

If first day backers get a signed copy, I think it devalues the signed copy bonus in the $100 tier

I like the card art and would like to see it closer to the top of the page. My overall preference would be, promo video, how to play, components, promotions, stretch goals, reviews.

Could the second promotion convert to a social media promotion? For example, 100 facebook likes = ???

Is the art final or prototype? The only reference I can see is to prototype, but it looks finished

I do like that you are attempting to fund your game, but are also trying to get some funds together to establish Pawnjoker Games as a permanent business. Maybe there is a way to call more attention to that fact.

The Twitter hyperlink is spelled incorrectly

right about the Twitter link, there is an "o" missing from "of"

I would probably rephrase the risks and challenges part a bit; maybe go with a single combined paragraph; replace the first two lines of the second paragraph with the last line of the first paragraph.

Overall, I think you are 90% of the way there with this campaign and I am looking foward to seeing the finished launch - good luck!

On my computer, the music was very loud when your voice came in -- this may be just me, but I'd turn down the music at that point, or make your voice louder.

In the part about you, I wouldn't lead with being Minnesotan -- don't get me wrong, I'm also from the land of shovel and swat, but it doesn't have much to do with the game. Perhaps included it at the end?

I'd also second the note about the tier jumps -- having something else in the middle might be nice, or lowering the price for the signed decks.

For higher tier backers, what if you had one or two other specialty hands like the Dead Man's hand, things that your backers could make up? For $100, they get to pick a four card hand and name it (you keep editorial approval, of course). These could be optional rules, of course.

Who is signing?

Are you some well-known artist or something? Take "Quest Adventure Cards(tm)", we had ONE (1) poster signed by Geof Isherwood (of both Marvel and D.C. fame). Now Geof has his own following of people who buy his artwork because his stuff is amazing.

As a "Designer", I would not sign any game sets.

So I find it strange to offer such a Perk - because only limited people can claim that it actually adds VALUE to the overall product.

Just my 2 cents...

Edit: I left some feedback concerning the pricing tiers... I gave you some more ideas about how to SELL the game even AFTER your Kickstarter.

2 more days

Thank you all for the information both here and on the KS page. I will spending my Labor day laboring over the edits needed for the campaign.

See you all on launch day!
