Hey there guys,

I've been lurking on these boards for some time, but I thought why not introduce yourself to these fine people and really start to mingle in this (seemingly) very nice community.

I'm Danny Stoll, 30 year old father of three and as you might have gathered from the threadtitle, I'm from the Netherlands. I've been gaming for quite a while and like most gamers out there, I've always dreamed about designing and publishing my own games.

I work as an engineering change Coördinator for a multinational automotive company, which for me means a lot of long hours and traveling. Long flights or trainrides are usually the instances where I have enough time on my hands to think about games, but usually I don't really get past the idea step. What really sparked me into taking the next steps is the (small) success story from a couple of gamers I know from my area, who have just finished a successfull kickstarter (revenge of the dictators). What they've shown me is that putting in the hours pays out.

I currently have two games that I'm actively working on, with several others still in the 'concept stage'.

The first game is actually based off an idea of my 6 year old son, who loves games almost as much as myself. It's a set collecting game with some take that elements, using dice as a medium. I'm currently creating a first prototype to take to the games clubs in the area. I hope to have something close to finished by the end of this year.

The second game I'm working on is a multilayered tile-laying game set in Japanese Kabuki theatre. This is not much more then a concept at this point and is the main reason for me joining these boards.

I hope to find some people who are willing to listen to my ideas about the game and the mechanics I'd like to put into it and be able to give some good and constructive input.

If anyone would like to have some more info about me, please let me know and I'll be more then happy to oblige.

Danny

Welcome

Welcome to bgdf. The game concepts you have presented sounds interesting. There is alot of great people here who can steer you in the direction your looking for, but you have the final say on your game. Great tips amongst this group.

I'd be interested to hear

I'd be interested to hear about the tile-laying game, even in its rough outline.

Hey Arcuate, I'd be happy to

Hey Arcuate,

I'd be happy to give you a rundown of my ideas so far. I think the best way is to open up a thread in the appropriate portion of the forums.
