I'm back...I think?

I've been away from these forums for a while.

Maybe you didn't miss me, that's ok. If you did, I'm sorry I've been away.

If anyone has been following my blog, you'd note that I've recently had a child. Of course all you fathers out there know how much time and resources it takes to raise a baby, much less try and design games at the same time.

But I find myself still designing games and as is my lot in life. I've been trying to move up from Kismet and try something a little more complicated. Maybe I'll talk about it later, but I'm not sure if I'll be as active as used to be.

We'll see.

Welcome back!

Welcome back!

New inspiration?

It's amazing how many weird things pop into your head when you are overtired & stressed with newborns (congrats btw). Go with the flow & see where it leads, maybe to a push-your-luck game about how many day-to-day tasks you can get done before your lack of sleep causes an accident?

Welcome back. I just got back

Welcome back. I just got back too. And congrats on fatherhood.

Aw crap, the title had me

Aw crap, the title had me hoping you were that awesome guy with the world's best RPG.

You're good too though. Very good, in fact. Welcome back, and congratulations on your child! Enjoy those precious few moments of sleep, and I hope you've moved past the meconium.

You are very blessed to have a newborn.

Unfortunately I haven't been so lucky with the ladies to find myself a wife to have a family... But being over 40 years of age - it definitely weights on my shoulders to hope to try to meet someone to start a family of my own.

So good on you - who cares if your child takes priority - you will have time to up-bring your child and there will be a time where games will even be a part of normal life...

As we know all children enjoy games and games teach new skills to children: math, critical thinking, strategy, etc.

Don't worry if you're further away from the hobby - now. You will have the chance soon enough to explore games with your child (and family).

Again congrats ... and we understand if you don't post much or comment much... Fatherhood is a job for the rest of your entire life. It doesn't end at 18 years - it goes on... And games start at early years and into teenhood and even in the twenties.

I was watching a video about "Magic: The Gathering" (Tolarian Community College) and he said playing Magic was something good. Because it kept kids from drinking or doing drugs or hanging around in gangs ... Anyways it reminded me as Father's we should urge our children to be involved in positive things even it they may at times seem expensive (Magic) or even addictive...

There are far worst addiction than playing games (As the Tolarian Community College professor explains...)!

Best of luck to you and your family!

Cheers.

Kids

Hope you spoil that child every chance you have. :)

Welcome back!

Welcome back and congratulations!

RAM,

I've been out here only intermittently the past few months, but glad to see that you're back with us, if only in short spurts of activity.

Congratulations to you on the birth of your little one...blessings to all of you!

Cheers,
Joe

Dude...

I'm about to be there myself, so best of luck to you!

I'm 42 :) It can happen.

I appreciate the words of encouragement. Every day there's new challenges and it's certainly stretched my endurance (especially sleep). I really want my child to get into gaming, but I know she'll do whatever she wants.

However, I do have a library of games waiting for her to explore :)

High five sir!
