Hi Everybody.

I'm new here.

I'm also quite new to all this designing games thing. And that was the reason I went on internet expedition looking for knowledge and found this message board.
Lurked for a while without registering, but then I realized (maybe wrongly, but that's to be seen), that I have better chance of finishing a thing or two, when I show it to some broader audience and get some critique.

All I have at the moment is an idea for theme together with rough sketch of how the gameplay works. It hopefully will be an exploration game with worker placement and custom dice.
So now I need a process of creating and adding to this.

I hope I will learn a lot here, and I sure hope that this creation I have in mind will come to life
I look forward for all the discussions and critique I will be having and getting, and well.

So Hello Everybody!

Hey Matt! That's quite

Hey Matt! That's quite astute of you. Generally speaking, sharing your game ideas with others will help solidify the game in your mind, and the feedback will help point put out the game's strengths and weaknesses.

So share away...

I enjoy exploration games, so I'm intrigued.

A key piece of advice I'd offer is to put together a quick and dirty prototype, and then test out your idea, to flush out the core game mechanics.

Anyways, good luck and happy gaming!

Welcome!

Mat,

Welcome to BGDF! Generally speaking, the site provides a wealth of information. You may be best served searching through the vast archive of information than awaiting a constructive response at times. However, on occasion you'll have a few folks who provide truly remarkable assistance.

Check out the many threads formed over the years, keep at the design work, and be direct in what you want to achieve in your posts.

Cheers,
Joe
