As many of you know, I'm launching a crowdfunding campaign (one way or another...more on that later) for my dice/party game Scrambo!

Well...after 5 months, the review is finally in from the YouTuber with the coolest name of 'em all, Lance Myxter aka Undead Viking:

"It's a heck of a lot of fun, especially if you've got a group of people who like to scream and yell at each other." :)

Nice review ... welcome to the club! :D

That's a pretty good review from Lance (Mr. Undead Viking himself)!

I think Lance's policy on reviews to be very just:

He won't review a game that he does not like (so no negative reviews).

So consider your game to be one of the game worthy of gamer (even if it may be party game) attention! Like Lance says "Game Night" doesn't have to always be about optimizing your moves and trying to perform the perfect turn in order to try to win a game...

Some games like my own have a bit of a "random factor" (like Scrambo) and it's not always about optimal play. It can be a "lighter" game which is FUN to play and just evokes other forms of "tension" like having your opponent rolling his "clock" dice - waiting earnestly to yell out: "Scrambo!"

Very cool indeed!...

Thanks guys! While it's true

Thanks guys! While it's true all reviews from UV are positive (because he charges $$ and as Kris mentioned only reviews games he thinks he'll enjoy), I'm particularly happy with the result as it feels like he genuinely liked it and may bring it out again!

As for launch, I've taken a chance on an unusual opportunity and submitted it to the Hasbro Gaming Lab contest. This time the criteria is simply "family game," so I think it stands a good chance. If they select it (decision will be made around November 7), I'll get $2000 to make a video and it'll go up for funding on Indiegogo.

If they pass, the Kickstarter will hopefully go live later in November, but I still need to shoot the video so we'll see. Not really sure I want to be running a campaign over the holidays!
