Hey, what's up everyone! I wanted to provide a Kickstarter link to our preview page of our upcoming campaign. I don't want to leave our link and then scram. I am truly here to get feedback and comments from people on this board.

I truly value all opinions and criticism. I am a tiny start-up company at this point who has self taught myself how to do videos, photoshop etc (I'm no expert). I am still working on tweaking the KS page as well.

We have done hours and hours of play testing and have gotten a lot of great feedback previously at a local Comic Con event which lead us to try and launch the game on KS. The game isn't currently for sale so it will be a Kickstarter only game.

Again, please check out the link and let me know if you have any further questions or what you would like me to add to the page. A like to my Facebook account would be great as well :)

Thanks again for your time!

First, I have to say the video production is well done for the Kickstarter. My only criticisms on the video itself would be to give the audience a little more credit. You want them to "figure out" that the game is tactical, has tons of replay value, and is fun instead of asking them to their face. You don't want to put that out in the beginning because we obviously want those qualities in a game...if they "figure it out" based on how you describe your game, they are more likely to back it.

But I have to address the elephant in the room. It's a game about killing Native Americans. To me, that just screams trigger for Native Americans who are already sensitive about their tribes being wiped out. I know that the game is native against native, but the subject itself is so sensitive that football teams can't use Native American terms as their team name. Maybe a truly different theme that's unique...either something silly like cats trying to defeat cats to take over a neighborhood or life an actual war (or wars) that you can emulate through your game.

I like how you talk about the gameplay, but I'm not sure the gameplay has enough of a hook to get me to invest. I'm sorry, but it just seems like another standard card game that doesn't add anything new to the table.

This is just my opinion. Take it for what you will.

I appreciate the feedback.

I appreciate the feedback. Being honest this is the first the 'Native American' issue has been brought up. I can see how it would turn some people away, but I think it would be more of an issue if it was "Pilgrims vs Indians" type deal (which some games do). Besides it being a war game, there is no derogatory slurs against them etc.

There is nothing ground breaking but it does play different than other card/dice games that we have played. The guests we had play test just seemed to love the take that when attacking and just the fun but simple gameplay - the cards' abilities also were talked about so you can place them down on your side to counter other cards abilities that your opponent has. Hopefully I can get you to change your mind :)

Just a few first

Just a few first impressions:

Huge red flag: "First Created. 0 Backed." You're going to lose a lot of people just based on that right there. You need to go back some other game projects. Even if it's just at the $1 level. At least give people the impression that you're part of the Kickstarter community.

Your main video looks good from a quality perspective, but after a minute and a half, I feel like I still know almost nothing about your game. Your opening questions basically boil down to, "Do you like to play good games?" And your description of the game boils down to "Gain money to buy cards. Roll dice and see who wins."

What makes this game different? What makes it special? Why should I back it over the other hundred KS games that will come out this week?

You need to find your hook and then play it up as much as possible.

Is there any way you can redo the graphic design on the cards? It looks like an early prototype and is going to immediately turn off a lot of people. The market has so many KS games with beautiful art and graphic design that it's now expected from backers.

Also, you would get a lot more mileage out of a "how to play" video instead of using step-by-step pictures.

To do a deep dive in researching running a Kickstarter campaign, I recommend you spend a lot of time reading through the articles here:

Good luck with the project.

Gabe, thanks for the link - I

Gabe, thanks for the link - I will take a look.

We are more than likely going to add a video of the gameplay because I think that would be beneficial as you mentioned to give people a better idea of what it is about.

I'm probably of a rare breed as I'm a huge card game fan and not just of the Magic/Yu-Gi-Oh/Pokemon fare (I didn't really get into Yu-Gi-Oh). I go WAY beyond the traditional CCGs and look at LCGs, stand alone, 1 player, stuff that's got unique mechanics. Everything from Onirim to Race For The Galaxy to Xenoshyft to Love Letter. So I'm probably a little more scrutinizing as far as mechanics go.

From what I've seen, successful card games on Kickstarter have that "one thing" that makes them unique and stand out. Sometimes it's the controversial nature of it a la Cards Against Humanity, Joking Hazard, Secret Hitler, etc but I don't think you're looking to go that directions. Sometimes it's the game mechanics, but I don't see much uniqueness in your gameplay.

Look, I'm not trying to shoot you down and I appreciate you being vulnerable for feedback, this is just what I initially see. You have some really good qualities in your campaign, but I think there are things that can be improved.

But such is criticism. Again, take it for what you will.

Gabe just released an interview with me about good reviews not exactly the Magic Bullet. I'm sure there are things that you could learn from it. :)
