Me

Hey there!
My name is Lyric Goins; I am the Vice President of the Dwarven Tavern. DT is a game review company in short form, but long form we do reviews, interviews, podcasts, promotions, and more. We have been pretty bogged down with RPGs, but because board games are both a well-loved style of game AND are making a comeback in recent years, I'm taking it upon myself to search out more board games to review and advertise.
I was given the go-ahead to chat it up here, so I thought I'd extend the invitation! If any of you guys and gals would like for my company to review your things, just hit me up! You can check out our reviews of other games on our website dwarventavern.net or on youtube at /dwarventavern. we're also on facebook under the same name.

So enough about that; I am originally an Ohioan but currently live in SC with my husband, who is a sailor in the Navy, and our 5 pets (3 cats and 2 dogs). Hair dye is my hobby; you'll never catch me with the same two colors in a row. I am a comic book artist and illustrator, and I sing on the occasion I get around to it. I also do video work with the company above. I'm kind of a jill-of-all-trades, if you will. I also speak Japanese and I'm self-teaching Swedish, as my bestie is a Swede. and blah blah blah I could go on forever and still miss details lol. So if you have any questions about me or my company, again, just message me!

Thanks for taking the time to read this!

It's always nice...

To hear or learn about a *NEW* reviewer in "TableTop" Town! LOL I can say what another designer called it "A board game 'renaissance'..." So yes there has been a small "boom" in game activity over the last few years.

So welcome to Dwarven Tavern, may your foray into TableTop Games be successful!

Cheers and welcome to the BGDF Forum!

Hey Lyric

Hey Lyric,

O-H!

I was born in West Virginia, but I have been an Ohioan for over a dozen years (moved back towards family). Anyways, next time I am down in SC (whenever that will be) I will have to stop by your shop. Well, now that I think about it, you didn't necessarily say if you had a physical location- oh well. Currently, I am, I guess a team leader, for many board game projects. One of which is kind-of more along the lines of an RPG or dedicated strategy war and politics game (as if Axis and Allies was on steroids). Perhaps you might be interested in reviewing it? It is not ready for review quite yet- it is close. I am having some guys finish a review of it. If you like doing artwork too- maybe we can find a fit? Anyways, message me if you are interested.

Indeed!

I have heard someone call it a renaissance, which is awesome! However, our company isn't quite new, necessarily. We're just expanding to other communities to try and get our outreach to a larger audience. We frequent Gen Con and youtube quite a lot ;)

and thank you! May you always roll the exact number you need! (as rolling high can sometimes be a disadvantage lol)

Well met!

Howdy there!

In reply to MAR:

I-O!

Well we don't necessarily have a physical location. The Dwarven Tavern, even though it'd be quite amazing to have an actual tavern, is all online. And even still, if we WERE to have a physical building, it'd be located back in Ohio, where the rest of my coworkers are (it being online allows us to work from all over the world!).
That style of game sounds amazing! However, Axis and Allies is more of my brother's forte (we're a family company, after all!), as he is all about warfare. We'd love to review anything you'd send us, but if it deals with that type of stuff, I recommend sending it to our Ohio location.
I am always available to do art as well! Unfortunately though, I can hardly say my style would fit the more realistic tones-- I have a very unique style (I've been told) and can't seem to break out of it. If you'd like, I can pm you my art page on facebook so that you can see for yourself what I can do. :)

thanks!
-Lyric
