If you have a Board Game Geek (BGG) account and want to share support for our game "TradeWorlds: Exterra Edition" which will be delivered in Q3 2018, here is the nomination link:

"TradeWorlds entry #117 on BGG"

Every nomination COUNTS... We've got 900+ backers, 150+ fans of the game, and a bunch of people in on the contest to win a free copy of the game.

If you have an account or are willing to create one, PLEASE give us a nomination!!!

Many thanks!

As well our IndieGoGo launches on Tuesday too!

I don't want to post too many announcements... So I'll probably just post that on "Tuesday" (11/14/2017) we will be launching our IndieGoGo campaign to help raise awareness about the Top 20 Games of 2018...

We are offering IGG backers the SAME pricing and rewards earned by our Kickstarter last May 2017... It's been about 6 months and we've been moving forwards getting more artwork done. I can't say we are on-schedule but I can say we're not late. The artwork is taking more time than expected - but we know Charles is doing a tremendous effort in rendering the cards and illustrations. Plus he's a teacher too... So he's very busy.

This IGG campaign will be "flexible" and any and all copies that you Backers buy will be MADE and ADDED to our order with our Manufacturer. That's right every copy of the game ordered will be added to our 900+ backers.

While we realize the traffic on IGG is less than Kickstarter... We hope to offer a great deal (pricing-wise and content-wise) that may get other people also excited about our game.

So expect to hear from me in a few days announcing the launch of the IGG campaign!

Cheers.

So is a nomination simply

So is a nomination simply giving your game a "thumbs up", because that's what I just did. Wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I was supposed to do.

Yeah - just a Thumbs Up!

That's all that we are asking for... If we can get enough "Thumbs Up!" we can make it to the SECOND phase which is ANOTHER "Thumbs Up!" but this time it's a VOTE versus a NOMINATION!

Again thanks for the "Thumbs Up!"

Cheers.

Back for a 2nd Year...

While I know this is just a popularity game garnering nominations and then votes... It also helps to determine what people are "thinking" about the game.

We are currently at 18 nominations.

And if we compare with Trench that got HALF of our "backers" that is a bit worrisome that people may be "forgetting" the game and focusing on more recent games available to them.

Such things happen with games, they are HOT for a short while and then they disappear into the sea that is Board Game Geek (BGG). That's another reason we are participating in this contest: to get backers to contribute and participate much like the original Kickstarter.

Tomorrow Tuesday 14 November at 9:00 AM we will LAUNCH the IndieGoGo to help "rekindle" that excitement about owning your own copy of the game minus a 6 month production window. What I mean is that KS backers will have waited more than 1 year... IGG backers will wait about 6 months.

This has everything to do with getting our artwork FINALIZED ASAP. We realize that the art is taking a bit longer than previously expected... But that we are NOT late in our schedule... For the most part, it's just "BUFFER" time that we allocated to ensure that we could follow the timeline.

So I invite everyone to JOIN US TOMORROW for the IGG launch... We'll see how well we do and learn more about IGG as a platform and fans using it also...

Cheers!

So far a real disappointment...

Well we knew trying to simply "cross-over" to IndieGoGo (IGG) might NOT work. To date from 9:00 AM TODAY, we have 0 Backers! This is very unfortunate... but we were well aware that this would be one of the possible outcomes. We are going to LEAVE the campaign for the 30 days and see what we end up with. But with the demonstration of today's level of backing, I doubt we will get much funding from the IGG platform.

We will keep everyone posted... to tell about future progress, if any.

Cheers.

Many Thanks!

For people with BGG accounts already it's pretty simple to Nominate us:

  • All you do is follow the BGG link to the right entry...
  • Next you make sure you are logged into BGG...
  • And lastly you click on the Green Thumbs Up on entry #117.

It's as easy and simple as that.

Many thanks for those who nominate us!

I thumbed up somewhere at day

I thumbed up somewhere at day 2, when your campaign just started.
It took me 3 attempts however, to get a 10 star and "owning the game".

Seeing so many entries again this year.
But still, the best of luck!

Seriously - the competition is stiff this year!

Yes I understand what you mean?! I thought there was going to be hardly any competition in the Sci-Fi category - because last year there was not so many entries in Sci-Fi. But OVERALL there were games with out 500+ votes... So I knew we would not be in the Top 20.

This year with 900+ Backers and 150+ Fans ... I figured - for sure we can make a difference. BUT this year there are MORE Sci-Fi games than last year...!

Driving me crazy how this contest can not be won by my game! :P LOL

No seriously, it changes each year making it impossible to be in the Top 20.

Oh well!

What can be achieved by being

What can be achieved by being in the top 20?

It takes people to get there. So, your goal isn't getting people to know your game. Right?

It kinda feels like a paradox. And those you asked to vote. Might feel more "mêh" next time.

So, maybe trying to win this, is cutting your own fingers. But that is just my point of view.

Tough sale so far...

X3M wrote:

Mostly "bragging rights"... But it's an ACCOMPLISHMENT. It sort of means that your game is recognized as been one of the top games of 2018... That's a real accomplishment - considering it takes people to VOTE.

X3M wrote:

Well it means people who "backed" the game - feel like it's one of the better games out there. But it's true, many of those people who backed the game, have never PLAYED IT!

Yeah I understand how you feel. Ultimately it's real purpose is to give games some sort of "ranking" to encourage more people to play and enjoy. The ultimate hope being that if you have FUN playing, you'll make the effort of going out and getting your OWN copy of the game...

Which Ramon you already have the "core" version... So you can judge based on the "core" how the extended game will play - very similar with more scenarios, a couple expansions, nicer dice, game mats, four player box, foiled logo, thicker Game Pads, etc.

Many Thanks!

I'm just bumping this thread - because it seems like NOMINATIONS have slowed a bit... We're still in contention for the Sci-Fi category... But I think last year we have over 175 nominations and this year we are currently under 50... Unfortunately.

Thanks for your nomination

Yes at the moment all we are asking for is to "click" on the Green "Thumbs Up!"...

I noticed several BGDF designers gave us a thumbs up (Eamon, MAR, TBone, X3M , to name a few)

What we really need is to get this game into gamer hands. So people can actually PLAY the game. With everything we've added and the expansions, the game has HUGE replayability... And the "core" is very FUN too.

I was asked for information concerning owning a copy (Pre-Orders):

http://www.outerlimitgames.com/tradeworldstcg

That link will lead you to the "Pre-Order" Button and show you the different options available for purchase.

Many thanks, your nominations mean the world to us!

Cheers.

Just bumping this thread...

I've realize that the designers I know and converse with on this forum have all nominated "TradeWorlds"... But I'm bumping this thread for would-be "lurkers" that may be reading but not posting...

To have another look at the nomination entry and see if they could give their own "Thumbs Up!" to our entry.

It's #117 (What a number)... And all you need is a Board Game Geek (BGG) account. Once you register which only takes 1 minute or so, the next thing is clicking on the link and another click on the Green "Thumbs Up!" icon.

As simple as this... Cheers.

Dear Kristopher

Regarding this page:
https://shop.trycelery.com/page/7fa0eb89-b4cb-43bc-8c60-006c06adc1fb

It is a bit confusing to some. Maybe add a pre-order comparison table? Then 'want to buyers' don't have to trouble reading it all and make an overview themselves.

Here is an example:
https://cdn2.slidemodel.com/wp-content/uploads/6571-03-pricing-options-p...

Of course, a total costs at the top would supply buyers with all the information they need.

Cheers, X3M

I pass the suggestion along

Hello Ramon, I unfortunately am not the person who "designed" the Celery page... To be honest, I'm not even sure that can be done with Celery...

I will however pass you suggestion along to @Mike at "Outer Limit Games" (OLG). OLG have been instrumental in refining the LOOK & FEEL of the game, with their numerous additions to the game.

I'll see what they say... Like I said, I don't know how "Customizable" Celery is. I agree it's a bit confusing and not as clear as one would expect the page to be.

Thanks for your input, I'll see what can be done to make it less confusing.

Cheers.

I've resumed sending messages

I am now reaching out to the Backers that decided to become FANS of the game (During the Kickstarter in May 2017)... Some have suggested that my attempt to get people to nominate our game ("TradeWorlds") is SPAM... And for those that feel that way, my sincerest and deepest apologies.

But have apologized, I still will be continuing to ask for more support because BGG Fans ALREADY have a "BGG" Account... And so it's much easier to simply click on the "Thumbs Up!" button than go through the process of having to create a new account.

So again to those who feel like my appeal for some "nominations" is SPAM and they are not interested, my apologies. For all those who DO NOMINATE: Thank you, you are amazing and you're going to love your copy of "TradeWorlds"!

Some more nominations

Looks like we've received more "nominations" which is real cool!

As usual I'm just bumping this thread to today's posts - just so that lurkers can maybe decide to give us a "Thumbs Up!" on our BGG entry...

If you haven't done so already, please consider giving us your nomination!

Cheers.

So many people get offended too easily. I mean if you were sending them a message every day for a month, that would be spam, but just letting people know about something that they have a high chance of being interested in, is not SPAM. Some people just like having something to complain about.

I agree with your sentiment... But still one (1) person told me, to him it was SPAM. You are correct, all I did was send him a brief 2 line message asking him to nominate "TradeWorlds". I did this ONCE only. If I don't ask FANS who the heck is supposed to VOTE for our game?!

Yeah BGG people are very temperamental. Or just plain "moody"!

Dear Quest,

Hello Quest! Long time, no see! How’ve you been? I just wanted to say a few quick things.

Item #1: Good luck on getting TradeWorlds nominated in the top 20s, but I will not be voting on your game for many various reasons. The biggest reasons are: I don’t wanna spend my time creating an accout on BGG and I don’t think you deserve to be nominated. But again, good luck.

Item #2: You have been posting everyday or every other day, stating the same thing. I get advertising and updating, but you don’t need to do it everyday. It’s called word of mouth. So, you basically are posting spam. Try saying something different or updating less. I’m pretty sure lurkers have seen your post, they just don’t care.

Item #3: Again...Good luck!

Thanks Ali and Brittany!

We've seen a influx of nominations which is kewl. Thanks for adding to the recent "surge" of votes. I'm still going to be contacting more fans of the game during the remainder of the month.

Every vote counts - even if we are nearing the TOP of where we can go because the other games have HUNDREDS of voters (++) and it will be impossible to gain that much support.

But I'll be continuing to plug for more nominations - to help with the ranking of our game.

Many thanks to all the people that nominated us! You're all super-awesome!

Voting is WEIRD!

I've got to admit, at first I was confused about how "Trench" who got about 50% of our Backers (TradeWorlds 900+ backers, Trench 450+ backers) had more nominations... Guess their community of supporters is a "tighter" group...

But just this week we've narrowed that difference to ONLY TWO (2) nominations!

That's sort of validating - because we had so many more backers, and vote-wise we were trailing by such a large amount (33%)...

We had 50 votes and they had 75 votes. Now we have 85 votes and they have 87 votes... So it's much tighter now and I hope more votes to occur during the week while I continue to contact more FANS of "TradeWorlds".

Cheers.

We're now in Position #20!

Thanks to our KS backers - who have recently rallied in harmony to help put us in Position #20!!! We've gotten 35+ votes in that last 48 hours or so.

Last year we finished in Position #45 ... because we could not continue our momentum in the 2nd Phase which is VOTING. We hope that all of the people who gave us a nomination also vote for us in the final exercise...

Cheers!
