"QPC Games" now called "Shuffled Ink"

Well I sent out an e-mail yesterday for a quote from "QPC Games"... Much to my surprise when I visited their website, I was "re-directed" to another site and much to my dismay, I thought they had been "acquired" by some other company. After some digging and searching I finally found this:

With Shuffled Ink (formerly known as QPC Games), not only will you have a top-quality hand of cards at your fingertips, but you’ll also be in great hands yourself. Our team is here to help make your ideas for customized playing cards, board games, custom card games, personalized tarot cards, custom flash cards, or other tabletop games a reality.

So it turns out they just changed names and location... But the company is still the SAME. So I had to forward my previous quote request out to their NEW e-mail address (because probably the previous one is just lost in someone's inbox who is probably no longer checking for e-mails there...)

But they seem to offer the same level of quality and hopefully competitiveness in terms of pricing... We shall see what we get as far as a response from them... Obviously they seem to offer the same services as before but now the "look & feel" of their website is "modernized" and they have a catchy new name too!

Once I get a response to my quote, I will let you know my thoughts regarding their level of services and their pricing too (I won't post any quotes, but I'll let you know how FAIR their pricing is...)

Cheers!

I had a quote from Shuffled

I had a quote from Shuffled Ink last February, so it's been a while :)

The funny thing there was that the quote was very low, but not itemized. I asked for an itemized quote, and they gave it to me, and the cost for my big map tiles was ridiculously low. I then had to argue with them for a few weeks that they'd misquoted that as 1 tile rather than 8.. eventually they said, yes, they'd misquoted.

I suppose I could've rolled the dice with the original quote, but I was worried they'd tell me later there was an error and they wouldn't honor it.

Hmm... interesting

I just got a reply from them... And it's a bit "ambiguous". The sales representative talks about 1,000 Sets ... But speaks about a "Version".

This is in relation to the MOQ but she asked a very clear question: does each pack have the same cards or different(?)

I've just replied because I know they used to deal with a Chinese Manufacturer in China, so "booster" pack printing may be possible via China. But I'm not sure if they offer a "randomized" booster format.

As I told her, I'm not even sure what the "process" is when dealing with RANDOMIZATION. How do they do it(?) Like I know from Quest a single sheet was printed with I believe 100 cards (10x10) and then they just ran that proof through the printing machine a bunch of times.

With RANDOMNESS I'm not sure it has to do with "card counts"(?!) Again this might be how it is done. Not sure.

I guess I need someone with PRINTING experience (more than my own which is rather limited — even IF I have been educated in the printing business a bit when I made Quest AC). Perhaps with multiple people brainstorming, it may be possible to figure something. Not sure.

Anyways if you have some ideas, input, feedback feel free to respond!

Cheers...

Yeah, the randomized booster

Yeah, the randomized booster thing is a tough one. I'd think you'd need to choose a manufacturer primarily based on whether they can do that one thing (when I did my research, I looked for companies that could do custom dice as my focus point, assuming that the rest was easy)

You'd think they would have

You'd think they would have notified people of their name changes...?

Funny ... actually!

The thing that I find "funny" is that the OLD "website" redirects to the NEW "website"... But to actually FIND a "reference" to QPC Games, you need to dig real deep and find it on the Contact page ("Contact our Team").

I would be sure this would be on Page #1 (Homepage) ... Saying we used to be name "QPC Games" and now we as "Shuffled Ink"...

To be real honest, I was not even sure it was the SAME company. The address is different, the "platform" and website are different, the only reassurance that I had was this comment on the "Contact" page.

Very frustrating!

Yeah it's true. What I'm getting is that the minimum would 1,000 copies for 1 sheet. By my estimates this would equate to 25,000 boosters. I don't think they are the right company to produce my "product". It's sad to say, but if I ONLY base myself on the sheer "reply" that they need to produce 1,000 copies, well there is no way... I've learned from Quest: never produce more than what you need and then maybe add like 10% in case of defects or damaged delivered product.

The problem with ordering too many "boosters" is that the MAJORITY of them will be wasted because they will just sit in a warehouse somewhere.

We'll see what they reply... But I'm not feeling very optimistic.

I had to cut down my artwork from 52 illustration to 40... I'm not happy with that ... but I guess I TOO need to compromise. I need to work on the numbers again since this puts everything out of "whack"!

Hmm, maybe they bought out or did something nefarious ;)

The good people are working on it!

Maybe! Well I'm still not 100% sure about my "quote". I have made some EDITS with a MOQ of 10,000 boosters. What it depends on??? PRICE!!!

If I am offered a reasonable unit price, maybe I can produce 10,000 boosters.

Sure by my projections, I will be left with a WILD quantity (60%) but at the same time if the sales are GOOD, there will be more left over to sell...

I know producing 150,000 cards is STUPID! Like I said, it all matters on the cost of manufacturing the "product". We shall see what "Shuffled Ink" have to say (as their response). I may still have some negotiating power, not sure. But we'll see...

I've done this before with Quest. I have other options to explore too...

So we shall see... So far I have received no reply. My guess, they need to work on pricing and format, etc.
