space wars(Work in Progress,please comment )

2-4 players
ages 12+

Overview
Each player controls a race, and their ships. The objective of the game is to conquer all four planets. This involves destroying your opponent's ships and landing on their planets. They can also create more ships. The ships are in card form, and use tokens to show their locations on the board. Different ships also have different abilities. Build your ships and conquer the planets.

Board
The board is a map of the system in which planets are located. The center is the sun and the corners are the planets. Most of the map(the space) is in squares. The squares that surround the planets are the planet's air space. All ships start in the air space of their planets. To conquer a planet you must move on to that planet from it's air space. When that happens the player in control of set planet will be eliminated from the game.

Resources
The resources are:cash, metals, E, and rare elements . Each player will start with $1000 cash, 1000 tons of metal, 1000Es, and 100 tons of rare elements. Every turn your resources will grow by 100 with the exception of rare elements which grows by 10tons per turn. Everything here with the exception of rare elements are counted by thousands.

Ship Cards
Your cards are your ships which are represented by the tokens on the field. Each ship has a level and building requirements. Each card has an ATK, a DEF and a life. When anther player attacks you, their attack is subtracted by the attacked ship's DEF and the difference is subtracted from the life and vice versa.

Space Station Cards
These card are treated as ship cards, but there are some differences:
1.These can be only created in the air space of your or a planet you've conquered.
2.They can only be created by special cards.
3.They can't move.

Special Cards
Special cards are cards that can do special moves.

Game Play
The game starts in a clock-wise direction. Each player will have two decks. Each player will have two level 5 ships in the air space of their planet(max 6). Each ship can move 1 space each turn. The cards will be placed in the card slots. Destroyed ship cards cannot be used again in this game.

Comments

This sounds like a fun idea

My only concern/question would be amount of cash and metal in play. How is this tracked? It would seem like an awful lot to keep track of with these amounts being in the billions and adding more each turn. Also, with an unlimited amount of food and water, why make it a part of the game at all? It kind of seems superfluous to have resources that you can't run out of. Have you thought about limiting these or maybe just leaving them out entirely?

Just a thought from the overview you presented.

Thanks,

Bill
