Point Blank Range (concept demo)

Point Blank Range (concept) game board

The “Point Blank Range” game represents a battle between two land armies from a tactical perspective. The setting is generic so as to widen the possibilities for different game themes/expansions (Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia). The game name refers to the surprise factor involved in the combat mechanics. You will only find out what kind of enemy you are dealing with at point blank range! This print-and-play version of the game can easily be set up for 2 players.

I'm attaching the print-and-play files. Just a few sheets and you are good to go. They are not glamorous as they are just a concept design. I don't sell games, I sell ideas. Games development does not payout in this side of the world! But games design does. This game has been extensively playtested and has worked really fine for 2 players in a 10 (quick) to 30 (close) minutes game.

The idea is to adapt it to your desired theme. For example, the board could be a desert background for Iraq, or a montain background for Afghanistan, or a jugle background for Vietnam, or a forest background for Yugoslavia, etc. Fantastic themes have not being tried out yet.

The essence is customizing to give way for expansions. You could addapt the weaponry to the proper setup, for instance, 82º Airborne badge in the Air Transport Unit (Iraq), SEAL badge or Republican Guards (Iraq) in the Commandos Units, M114 Howitzers (Vietnam) or M102 (Iraq), SA7 SAM vs Apache Helicopter Air Strike (Afghanistan). You will surely have better ideas than these few of my own if you have a theme in mind.

As it's not a heavy setup regarding game components, so it is versatile enough to fit many proyects. You can make it as fancy as you want with the illustration part. Let me know if it serves your idea. Tell me about it, so we can work something out. Please do not distribute these files.

Keep thinking!
