Wanting to print 5000 games, but where?

I have searched the forum quite a bit in for a list of some board game manufacturers; however, I haven't been able to find a comprehensive list.

Does anyone have a few links to possible manufacturers with any testimonials of how they worked for you. Also does any body have a list of manufacturers to stay away from.

I am looking to do a run of 1000-5000 games; so I am not looking for low quality low run manufacturers, but rather full blown professional companies that will give me a good deal for buying bulk.

Bulk?

From what i hear the best prices are still in Asia but the people i know have sworn off Asia because of quality issues.

1000 is probably a minimum for most printers; you'll start getting a better per unit price at 3000-5000 pieces. Still you need to get into big numbers to truly bring the price down.

Excellent, I am trying to stay away from China because of the horror stories, and ludofact is looking pretty nice right now. I will contact all of them later today and get some price quotes.

With that said, does any body have any american based manufacturers? I assume they will be more expensive, but they might work for me as well and want to keep all of my bases open.

Publishers

Not sure how publishers might feel about it but you could try checking with some US game publishers to see who they use/recommend for printing: Zman games, Fantasy Flight?

As I am based in the UK I cannot think of any companies in the US but have you tried contacting the equivalent to the Toy Fair you have in the US. They will provide you with contact for maunfacturers. I use their resource in the UK I know they have an equivalent fair in New York you could look into...let me do a quick google for you

I guess a quick phone call will settle the matter. In any case if they don't they will certainly know which company that will. I assumed that if they are manufacturers then they do just that...manufacture games.

Just advice...

I would not go above 3000 for your first run.... Z-man usually doesn't do more than that or Rio Grande neither... you can always print more.

For anyone who is interested, the only company who has responded within one day was Imagigrafx, so that is definetly a plus on customer service; but it is far to early to tell.
