Hello everyone,

I just read the post by Emphyrio a few minutes ago mentioning the FIRA JUGAR X JUGAR competition that went on in March in Spain. I also know about the Hippodice Game Design Competition in Germany. My question for all of you is what other game design competitions do you know of? I have some games that I would be interested in submitting to these competitions but do not know where they are. I live in Canada and so obviously competitions in North America would be attractive to me, but I am willing to send stuff to Europe and elsewhere as well.

Other Competitions?

Thanks for the link. I hadn't thought to look on BGG. I will definately send some games to these competitions. But does anyone know of any other competitions in addition to this list (I am sure there are more than 6 or 7 competitions in the world).

Currently there is a contest in New Zealand. http://www.iqideas.com/
But in my oppineon, it looks more like something for childern designeing their Monopoly-Variations than for serious board geme designers.

In Austria, ther is the "Landespreis für Spielkurltur" organiced bei Ludovico (www.ludovico.at)

Further, there are some more contests organiced by small publishers.

Harald Mücke (spielmaterial.de) makes competitions with fixed components.
The winnes of the second competition will be announced soon. I do not know when or if there will be another competition.

nestorgames has a competition exclusively for abstract games.
