My current games line-up

A summary of the games I'm currently working on, just so I don't forget:

Get 'em!
A quick and simple card game with a push-your-luck mechanism. Graphics by Ariel Seoane. I'm still tweaking the scoring system and making small adjustments to it to perfect it, but it's basically done. I sent it to a publisher back in 2008. It came very far in their process, but was utimately rejected. I should try approaching another publisher come spring 2011.

Uruk
An auction game. The theme is building a city in ancient Mesopotamia. This is more of a 60 minutes gamer's game. If you mix Ra, Amun-Re, Merchants of Amsterdam and Year Of The Dragon you would end up with something like this. This is a game that has been in my mind, almost fully-formed, for some time now and I should start prototyping it. I already made the graphics in Inkscape and now I need to do the printing, glueing, cutting out tiles, etc.

Car Collection
Another quick and simple card game. It is about collecting the nicest cars (sports cars, classics, etc), although the theme is rather arbitrary. This has an interesting auction/turn-order selection mechanism. Pre-prototype phase.

Abstract game
A two player abstract game. Hex shaped tiles displaying one of three icons are put down on a board. Players take turns collecting these tiles by moving their pawn accross the board. The fun should be in planning your optimal path and at the same time picking up tiles so that your opponent has to choose a less optimal path, or even cut him off completely. Pre-prototype phase.

Chicago
A deduction type game, ala Mystery of the Abbey (ie. find out the missing card), but a lot simpler. Set in the 1930s Chicago. A dice mechanic drives the game. Roll two dice. Choose one for the action, one for the number of spaces to move ahead on the track. When you reach the end of the track you have to guess the missing card. So the trick is to balance the quality of the information you get from the actions with the speed with which you near the end of the track. If you are there too soon, you might not know for sure which the missing card is, but if you are there too late, someone else might have won the game before you. An earlier version of this game was co-operative, which I decided doesn't work, so I'll now try the 'normal' version.
