I have a board game that I've prototyped and tested. I have a source for the game pieces I'm using (at least until I can afford to make custom pieces), but I want to get some quotes for getting the game board, tiles and box printed.
I'm only looking to make a run of about 100 units right now, to start selling.
The board is about 15"x15", and it can be folded once or quad folded.
Thanks in advance.
You might need to get creative to work in such small numbers. Meaning doing allot of it yourself, going with less than optimal quality, etc... Most printers that know how to do what you want won't bother doing runs of less than 1,000. Even at that amount the price is quite high per unit, it usually doesn’t drop significantly until you do 3K or more.
That's correct. Even at 1000 copies your cost per piece will be quite high... easily $10+ per unit.
Like Dralius said, you might need to get creative to work in such small numbers.

For 100 boards, you might check with Guild of Blades. They're a digital printer (and a frequent poster around here) and might be able to do a game board at a reasonable price. For a larger run, we (DeLano Service) can do boards, cards, etc. The economics of offset printing dictate that our minimum run is about 500 of anything, but I don't think it'd be as high as $10/board even at that quantity. Usually, running 500 of something costs about 80-90% of running 1000 of something do to the fixed costs, so I'd say 500 boards would come in around $5-$6 for production and one time costs.
I hope this helps!
