Prototyping, need help with "districts" or "sections" of Manhattan

I'm currently working on a game prototype, and the game board for the prototype will be a map of Manhattan. What I'd like to do is divide Manhattan into several sections. I have some ideas, but I've never been there.

Here are the sections that I had in mind: Lower Manhattan, The Village, Midtown Manhattan, Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Harlem, The Heights, Upper Manhattan. I've also thought about Financial District, Central Park, Greenwich Village, East Village.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Also, if I use the first 8 sections I listed, is anyone familar enough with Manhattan to give me streets where one section would realistically end and another start? For instance, is Lower Manhattan considered to cover from Canal St. south and west of the Manhattan Bridge?

Thanks for any help!

That one has a good districting scheme you can adopt.

Also this site will have streets you can see where the begin and end.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, that does help. I did see the one with a google search. I just want to be as accurate as possible.

Those are both good links

Both of those links from ziplockbag are good ones. For your needs, I'd work from the second map which seems to cover all the major neighborhoods. The first link might be a little too detailed for what you need.

I lived in NYC for 7 years, so feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. Be happy to help.

Blood Feud in New York

It's been a while since I've played the game, and I believe the map encompasses more than just Manhattan, but you could look at the board for Blood Feud in New York for inspiration.

I don't know how much you want to subdivide Manhattan...
